Exactly. Its not like they had to reinvent the wheel. Its not much different than the JK.

Reportedly the backbone is laser cut and each side is one piece stamped/formed steel. Instead of the much easier to manufacture four or five metal strips bolted together. In addition, each platform stantion has four bolts instead of two. Much more complicated to make...probably a real increase in an already high price.

Correct. 2 Door owners are left out to dry yet again. I spoke with them a few weeks ago and they confirmed 4 Door version only and that I should check back late summer to see how the 2 Door development is going.

According to a guy that has it on his the new “expected” date is June. I wouldn’t hold my breath though.

RR sent me an email saying that the BackBone date has been tentatively set as "late June", along with an email announcement. But don't hold your breath...

I haven't drilled the holes for my Maximus-3 rack yes but at this point I doubt it's worth trying to sell it and get the Rhinorack version instead. Kind of wish I'd waited but oh well...
