We are looking to but a rooftop tent for our JL 4Dr Rubicon.

Probably the Arb Simpson 3.

Anyone know of UK dealers that are selling low profile roof racks (ARB, Rhino etc) for the JL?

It would be nice to have one that fits in the gutter, as opposed to drilling my nice shiny hardtop.

There seems to be a lot of chunky Land Rover kit out there!

We will only need the half roof rack, as this will only be for the tent, and I don't want to block the satnav receiver with a full length rack.

Any advice would be appreciated.....

Another plug for Jeepey.com ...they don’t list any roof racks for the JL on their site but they do stock ARB products, worth asking......

Thanks for the information, I'll give them a call on Monday.

As a tent only weighs about 100 Lbs it would be interesting to know if anybody has mounted one using 3 Thule bars.

As the roof rack and tent will be removed for day to day use, maybe a solid rack is unnecessary ?

That looks like it might do, a little costly but Evo is good kit.

Thanks for the link.
Hi Frontal

What did you go with in the end? I was looking at roof tent options too but once you get the tent and two human beings up there It's more like 180kgs that you're loading up those plastic roof gutters with. I didn't like those odds.......

Ok that makes sense as it's bolted to the roll cage. Looks like you have to drill the hard top - do they give you something to blank off the holes if you want to remove the rack when not in use?

I didn’t get the front runner rack, opting for the Thule instead as I don’t carry heavy loads.

The instructions for the FR answers your question....yes, plugs are provided.

I installed the Front Runner roof rack, and I am very happy with the quality.

Looks good, but I am really not keen to drill into the roof, so would prefer something like the Dee Zee rack.
https://www.deezee.com/product/roof-rack/
I have contacted them, but only the sites admin replies and sales will never return a message, so I would say that they are completely uninterested in sales outside of the US.
I think that rack looks far better than the mopar rack, which is also stupidly expensive for 2 poles.

Hi there,
Did you get any update on those racks? I really love the idea and since I have a Power Soft Top I like the DeeZee design as I can easily remove it when not needed (I suppose carrying a kayak on those racks). My only concern is that they sell a 24" set, that means if I want to have fixing points in front and rear of the car - I need 2 sets of those, correct?
