So, I have to ask... looking at your new occupation, does that make you a dipstick who's an oil level expert? ;)
I should add... I don't think you're a dipstick.

Go ahead... I deserve to be roasted.
I admire your careful and correct employment of the apostrophe, Sir.

‘Tis a rare thing these days.

No need to reply.

Your welcome.

I'm with you... but I think a lot of folks here may have neither the resources, tools, time, or confidence to change their own. I get it... it's just a couple sockets, a funnel, a pan, filter/oil, & some beer. And something to smoke. Jack stands not necessary. But some just don't want to or don't feel like it (totally understood).

With all these new-fangled computers, I take my M3 to the dealer for oil changes since it's a little... sensitive. And precious. Easy to do on a 911 (apologies for seeming obnoxious).

Doing this kinda work yourself is incredibly easy and satisfying.
“Something to SMOKE???”

That explains so much about you, Stoner Melendez.

Not in a bad way, though.

Uhhh...dude...you, like, uhh,
gonna pass that...? Dude?

Well, you did give us the best line in Pulp Fiction, which is saying something. A stoner probably couldn’t get it together to do that.

So I believe you. Sorta. But let’s not start smoking each other’s cigars just yet.

I’m somewhat ashamed, as a Christian, to say that’s my favorite movie of all time.

But it is.

Word of warning to JL/U owners,

I just got my 2nd oil change at my local Jeep dealer (only because it’s “free”) and they put (edit: 7.5 - drained and measured) quarts in instead of the specified 5. I told the service guy twice that make sure the tech puts the correct amount in since they did the same thing on my first oil change. Check your oil levels even if you tell them that it’s only 5.

I'm sure you heard it more than enough from the rest of the posts, but yea.... I refuse to allow the dealer to change the oil in my JLUR and have NOT been back to the dealer since my purchase at the end of October 2018. It's an easy change, and totally worth your time in lieu of the 7.5 quarts your engine has received.

For what it's worth TOO much oil is not a good thing, blows seals out, so I'd suggest removing a few quarts just to be on the safe side.

Considering the resources, time, etc. are at your disposal, I'd always suggest doing it on your own. After my first 6-quart, free oil change/rotation, I decided it wasn't worth waiting for. I did mine this past weekend on my own...no mess, no fuss. It's incredibly easy even with them heavy-ass tires/wheels.
Your tire shop doesn't rotate and balance with purchase?

Does Discount Tire rotate for free?
Discount Tire (same as America’s Tire where I am) will rotate for free. If you didn’t buy the tires there, there is a charge for balancing - for me it was $15 per tire which covers the life of the tire.

Does Discount Tire rotate for free?
Northridge Tire Pros rotates and balances every 5000 for free with purchase of tires. Along with free flat repair...and they matched the lowest price I could find. Alignment every other rotation, $85.
