Are the a/c fans on the 2019 JLU quieter? I have a 2018 JLU and of course the a/c fan is loud, as we all know. I was curious if this has been fixed on the 2019?

Hmm, guess I have never noticed a loud fan on my December build. Isn't there a software update for this?

Sorry, I couldn't hear what you said I had my a/c on..
Damn that thing is the loudest fan I've ever heard, standing outside the Jeep when a friend was looking it over, once the fan came on our conversation turned more into a yelling match.

My wife has a 2018 with the loud fan, and I just picked up my 2019 that was built last week. There is absolutely no increase in external noise when cranking the A/C to max on mine (granted, it's in the mid-70s today, but my wife's JL will scream like a WWII German rocket when you turn it on at 60 degrees). So at least for SOME 2019s, it's definitely fixed.

I thought it was me. Every time I hopped out the Jeep I kept thinking "is my engine overheating or something? Why does it sound like an jet powering down?"

Don't like walking up to an air force base when your AC is running :giggle:

My 2019 fan is not loud. At least it hasn't been yet. I had it out in 101 degree heat driving around trails with the AC on. I could hear it when I was outside but not more than any other vehicle.

I heard a 2018 idling in a parking lot and it sounded like Top Gun.

I love the sound. Makes me feel like the Jeeps some command vehicle when I'm cruising uptown.

My Rubi was built at the end of April 2019, and it does roar sometimes. I was doing a bit of trail driving in 4L, air temp 102 (cooler day in the Tucson desert!) and the fan was roaring like a jet engine. Stopped for few min to let it idle and after a couple of min it did tone down. According to the ORP, Engine temp was running 220 (normally is around 200 in traffic), so I think the fan was doing the right thing. Lately, it's been well over 100 in the afternoon, and it'll roar then, but not always, so I think it's doing the right thing, even if it's incredibly loud.

My ‘19 JLUR just started doing this at start up a couple of days ago. It has been in the 90s and it only lasts about 10 seconds. Seems to stop when I put it in reverse.
