Anyone else have issues with water intrusion in the backup camera lens?
I took my Jeep to the car wash Saturday after getting dusty on some light trails at a local OHV park. The next morning I put it in reverse to find my backup camera all blurry. I went back and looked at it, and sure enough some water got through the seals and there's a tiny bead of water sitting behind the outer lens. I used a high-pressure hose at the car wash (same one I've used in the 10 months I've had my JL) but didn't give any particular focus on the rear tire, so I don't think I'm washing it wrong.
I have the factory camera assembly even though it now sits in an aftermarket housing as part of my Westin rear bumper tire carrier. Two days and counting, I'm hoping it dries out. Even though I've never had to open the sealed working camera assembly, I expect to be denied if I make a warranty claim, just on the basis that I relocated the camera. Obviously it's a failure of the seals around the lens.
