That's unexpected. Are the stock wheels not hub centric?
Jay,

Yep. Both wheels are hub-centric to mate with the Jeep hub. (Pics of wheel and hub below). The AEV wheels just have a smaller hole on the front face where the center cap goes. I think this 5-hole design is the exact wheel that Jeep used to make. AEV just picked up the design when Jeep dropped it.

2018 JLU Sahara... preceded by 2012 JKU Sahara, Multiple CJ's, TJ's even XJ, WJ & WK2... yup, Always loved my jeeps :)
I think 37's would be perfect too.
I lifted my Sahara 3 inches front 2 inch rear and with 35's it looked funny, went down to 2inch front/1 inch rear and now it looks good. Any higher I would want 37's.

Hey, do you have any photos of your Sahara in that set up? My Sahara is almost here and I am looking at the 2" mopar + 35's.

OMG poor Jeep! :crying:

How did it happen as the bumper still looks okay?
Hey Billy,

Driver of a Honda CRV did a max-effort stop at a yellow light while everybody else in three lanes proceeded on through.

Centerline of Chief hit right edgeline of CRV. Bumper penetrated as far as CRV’s rear axle. Unfortunately, that upper right edge of the CRV didn’t crumple, and the triangle-shaped rear windowframe drove right into the Chief’s grille, radiator, and hood like a spear. That’s why my other Jeeps (and his one, eventually) have “roo-bars” or grille-guard bars.

Looks great. What is the offset on those rims? The tires look to be a bit wider than the Mojito build, making them less than 12mm??

Thanks!!

The camera “thing” appears to be exactly 2” in diameter, but gets larger at its base. The AEV center hole is about 3/32 smaller than that.

I’ll give you all some better measurements when I get back to it. My wife just wrecked my Chief!

Sorry to hear about your Chief. If you have time, I would really appreciate a measurement of the inner diameter on the stock rim (if it necks down from the 71.5mm pilot) and the OD of the camera where the rims sits on it. I'm getting ready to buy rims.

Thanks!

@matchews,

The narrowest part of the stock rim (where the Jeep cap snaps in) is 2.22” or 56mm diameter. That point sits well away from the face of the tire carrier, and about 0.25” out from where the camera shaft taper changes, where the diameter is 2.05” or 50mm. Not that it matters, the base of the camera shaft taper is 2.70” or 69mm. The pics should help visualize the situation. You can see, in the first picture, the mark where my AEV wheels wouldn’t go on any further.

this looks like it's going to be a big problem for a lot of wheels then? It would appear so to me.

That center cap/hole diameter is not a dimension I paid attention to, until now.

Dang! I hate to hear that, I run AEV Salta's on both of my JK's and planned on putting them on my JLUR when it shows up sometime this month. I would assume the Savages and Saltas have the same hole diameter. I will have to wait and test fit one on the spare carrier before order now, and Jeep has made the camera deal hard to change tire carriers.
