When you install the Genisis system the small aux battery comes out and goes in garbage. You now have 2 full size batteries.

I leave my ARB fridge on at all times and sometimes don't drive the jeep for weeks on end.
Ok if the Genesis kit is deleting the aux battery that is a bit different and I stand corrected (on certain points)

On the 2.0L Turbo, there is no small aux battery, only the 1 battery, so with the Gensis system you get a dual battery system and the batteries are 850 cca each and if i remember correctly the factory battery is only 750 cca

I had the message "Aux switches not available, battery charging" for a couple of times I started the Jeep.

So, took it to the dealer and they said the main battery was bad. I explained about the Aux battery and asked if it was tested, "yes and passed".

Okay, then I picked it up and when I started it..... yep, same warning on dash..........

The service manager said he never heard of this, wait isn't that why I brought it in to begin with?

Said he would get with Jeep and let me know. I asked about the aux battery and he said it tested good..............

After a couple of days and calls, I told them i would bring it in and get a rental until they figure this out..........

The next day they called and said to bring it in as Jeep told them to test the aux battery as it looked like it was bad........ ????

Brought it in on an appointment at 730am and at 4pm they called and said the aux battery passed 2 times and on the third time it failed.

They are going to replace it as well, but there is a Nation wide back order for the battery and it will be a week before it comes in, picked the Jeep up again.

Asked the service manager about the voltage being high at 14.4-14.5 and was told that is normal all the time......

Asked why the battery was back ordered, a lot of them being replaced?

He went off about FCU changed vendors and now they can't get batteries for just about any vehicle.

My take on this is I will have to replace batteries about every 2 years as long as I own this Jeep. LOL

This isn't a complaint more of a laugh as they just wouldn't listen to me for any reason.............
So they replaced both batteries 3 weeks ago and the warning on the dash is back, "Aux switches not available, battery charging".

Back to the dealer for more checks.

So was it still under warranty or did you have to pay for the two batteries?

It is still under warranty as it only has 8800 miles on it.

That would have hurt to have to pay for both batteries if it wasn't under warranty. I just replaced a battery in my Mother's '99 Park Avenue Ultra and it cost her $235 and that was with the core exchange. She needed the better battery because it was the supercharged engine with a bunch of electronic stuff on it.

Now Iā€™m curious how lā€™ll fare here in Arizona, as batteries seem to only have a 2 year life anyway

Had both Main and small battery replaced by dealer in January. It had to be ordered then due to backlog. Either the system is killing them or the suppliers are providing crap batteries, but either way, it seems there are too many failures to be random. Batteries have a 100+ year track record of use in cars and somehow FCA figures out a way screw them up. After getting them replaced under warranty the ESS took much longer to activate after starting in the morning and after a month or so it just won't even work at all most of the time now. In fact, it's been months since I've even felt the engine stop at a red light. So just how much is this going to cost me when the warranty finally runs out in 2 years?? I better get them replaced again now and hope they are better quality or there's a "secret" update the dealer does to all the vehicles going through the doors for this issue.
