This is going to be much more of a rig journal than a build journal, as I plan on keeping my JLR mostly stock.

Day of delivery:

First trip with the dog:

The second post will have pics/discussion specifically about any mods I do.

Third post will be a maintenance record with any necessary or associated pics and write-ups.

Fourth post will be boring... gas mileage tracker so I can monitor trends in that arena.

All subsequent posts will be any other discussion or notes that come up.

18 May 2019:
Added my dog’s bandanna to the driver’s side grab handle.

29 June 19:
Using the wife’s Ocean Blue CONAIR hair dryer, removed “Wrangler” decals from exterior, warning labels from visors, and a few other stickers. I was pretty impressed with the color match of the hair dryer’s paint to my jeep, which was understandably important to me.

Much later I installed a Spiderweb Shade and a generic chinese shade:

And today (13 August 2021) I installed the Mopar LCAs:

Maintenance

05 June 2019:
Driver’s door not triggering dome lights when opened. Passenger side door still triggers the lights as normal. ~2100 miles

12 June 2019:
Dropped the jeep off at the dealer for the above issue. Also noted that for the past few days the compass has been not telling me a direction of travel some of the time. Turns out the door wiring harness had some bent pins.

Got my first tire rotation done at the same time (five tire rotation).

2756 miles.

27 June 2019:
Oil change number 1. Put in Pennz Platinum 0W-20 and Fram Ultra Synthetic XG11665 filter.
3123 miles.

18 December 2019:
Oil change 2: 10002 miles. Same oil and filter.

26 January 2020:
Tire rotation. 10,831 miles (I know, too large of an interval since the last rotation).

I've been getting 17 mpg pretty steadily on my sport 2 door with smaller tires than yours, so your numbers look good. I don't use the freeway regularly though.

Oh man... I’ve been all over the highway. My commute is 95% highway and I’ve been so busy that I haven’t had time to drive anywhere but to and from work. I expect once I get a chance to do more than just commute my MPG will drop.
