Hi PunknU,
We recommend having your dealer look into this for you. If you decide to do so, we would also like to have this documented and escalate a case in your behalf.

I had problems with my driver's side rear window when I first got my mine in Feb 2018. The dealer worked on it for two days before ordering replacement corners for bother rear windows. (They hadn't had any training or even seen a JL before that.) Although it took a few weeks since there were no parts available, when they did come. the new parts made a world of difference.

I wouldn't say the new corners "snap" into the plate at the bottom, but they are secure enough to stay in place with tension from the rear window.

Does anyone know if we're supposed to be able to run with the side windows in and the rear window out? Or all three out only?

2019 with premium top and no issues. I only have 500 miles on it but over half is in Sunrider mode or the full top down. Most of those miles are at 70mph or more.

The entire back window is a bit of a mess from a design standpoint.
I agree 100%

I think the entire top is a bad design. My top looks like a lumpy marshmallow half melted, but the back window is especially bad. It's got so much slack in it that ripples two or three times.
The only thing that Jeep should have actually fixed with the new soft top is the copious amounts of water that leak in the front doors when you open them during rain. Unfortunately they didn't address this at all, if anything I think more water pours in than did on my old JK...I have to keep a towel in the center console to dry the dash and door panel off.

The manual specifically says do not remove only the rear window.

Hi Punk'N_JL,
We're sorry to hear about this happening on your brand new Wrangler. We recommend scheduling an appointment with your dealer to have this addressed. In addition to that, please send us a private message so we can have this properly documented and looked into.

I guess I have my first complaint about the soft top. Not a huge deal really but when I'm in a strong (30mph+) crosswind, the edges of the top get blown up to the point that outside air intrudes enough that the passengers can get cold. For me it's not a huge deal since we're at the end of the Colorado snow but I wouldn't drive this in the mountains during the winter. In the spring it's more annoying than anything.

I have an FCA case # on the rear panel and appointment to have it looked at. I’m just telling the service writer the case# and that FCA will authorize the change out to the 2019 panel. If anyone else has had this experience successfully please post!

Same thing happened to me this weekend. It only seemed to be a problem as you said with very high winds. I first noticed it because I could see flashes of daylight at times where the top was flapping. It was a little unnerving. I kept expecting to see the top flying off.

Anyone have an update?

I'm at the dealer now for an oil change and they checked the top out. They are gonna submit a request to have it changed. Will have to wait and see. Glad I have a case with Jeep care. I'll update when I can, but it would be great to give the service guys some info. Such as the 2019 window or clips are the fix.

Neither the tech nor the service manager had heard of this issue before. They went and checked out some other soft top wranglers after looking at mine. Then told me "yeah, it looks like they all do that."

I have a 2018 Sport . Clips stay in but my rear window has a noticable warp on bottom. Not as rigid as side windows for sure. I thought it may have been due to riding it in sunrider position with windows in....although top speed was 35mph! Lol

Late 2018 here no flap issue but do have the ripple in the back window.

And yes, unlike previous models, the back windows are either all in or all out. Wind will push the side ones out when the back one is removed, so forget anything you know about how you like to ventilate or carry large items in the back. Top may be easier but the simple act of rolling up the back window for airflow is gone.

I really don't find this new top to be much easier. All in all it really sucks... It's hideously ugly, still pretty cumbersome to put up and down, water still dumps in the front doors when raining and it doesn't lay flat when down.

I'd buy something like the old JK top in a heartbeat if someone made one! bestop, quadratec, Smittybilt should get on that!
