Look what showed up while I was on vacation?!?!?! Somebody is getting a butt lift soon. Motobilt Rear Crusher Bumper with 3x3 cube light cut outs and spare tire cut out along with their Spare Tire Tag Relocate Kit and Camera Mount!!! Off to send it for coating....

Mocked up the new Motobilt Crusher Rear Bumper today before sending off for coating. Perfect fit!!! Ordered Rigid Industries D2 3x3 cubes for the cut outs and installed the Motobilt Tag Relocation Kit with the Off Road Only plate light and 3rd brake light mount. Gravy Train is right on track!

July 26th, 2018 was a day of epic proportions. It was the day the dealership called me and advised that the 2018 JLU Rubicon in Sting Gray, that I ordered the month prior, had arrived and was ready for pick up. I couldn't be any more anxious that day as I headed inside to meet the staff who were all huddled around my JL. It was the very first JL delivered on their lot that was coated in the most luxurious color that one could imagine.....Sting Gray! You see, I took a leap of faith when I ordered it, not seeing this color in person. I've always had a favorite Wrangler color, Anvil, but it wasn't available with the new lineup. As I entered through the doors of the dealership, the only thing in focus was my new Jeep and it felt as if time stood still as I walked around and around and around it some more, admiring it's color and the attention it was getting from the staff. This is where I began my journey as is the same for most everybody else. Build plans race across your mind, research fills your free time, while dollar signs race out from your bank balance. I'm excited to share the route my build has taken me...... mostly good, some bad, but all a learning experience. Stay tuned, you don't want to miss the Train!

I am perilously close to pulling the trigger on the Patagonia 38’s... thoughts on tires and need to regear? How do you feel about power and the elusive 8th gear after such folly. Your build is bangin. JD

You know, I have zero complaints from the power department with the 38s. I've never felt intimidated by pushing on the skinny pedal to pass anyone with the stock gears. Eventually I will upgrade to 5:13 to get the stock powerband back, but not necessary at this point.

The rear bumper is being Cerakoted next week. I'll post pics when its complete. I have a set of 3x3 Rigid Cubes Midnight Edition that I'll install in the cut outs.

I've been searching for rear bumpers and this one looks quite nice. Any idea if it is compatible with the rear parking sensors? The Motobuilt site doesn't seem to mention it being so.

I don't have the parking sensors from the factory and the rear Motobilt bumper I bought doesnt have a place for them either. I dont believe there is one from them that has that option yet but dont quote me on that. I'm not 100% sure.

The rubber stops on the tailgate were included in the Mopar oversized spare tire reinforcement kit. I pulled out the OEM ones and popped these ones in.

Removed a front Metalcloak bump stop puck (2 in front, 3 in back) and went out over the weekend to stretch her legs. No issues up front but if I want to remove a puck from the rear, I'll need to trim back the bottom rear corner pinch weld of the back wheel wells. Currently, it's barely touching the tire at full tuck and would definitely dig into the tire without some trimming.

Are you likeing the LED sprip lights on the front fender?

I like all the red that you're doing. Need to add red diff covers or the Rancho Red diff skids.
