Still waiting to hear what I should do to get this repaired @JeepCares. My dealer will NOT schedule me for the windshield (tried several times) and the crack has propagated about 4 more inches. Dealer says they contract out all windshield work with safelite. I’m a busy working professional so I can’t just take time off work for a service dept that says they won’t even look at it. For a 50k+ vehicle I expect MUCH better customer service than I’ve received so far . Please let me know how we are going to resolve this evening windshield issue.
I totally agree 100%, this is ridiculous

Still waiting for @JeepCares to do anything (so far they have offered to help me a half dozen times but done nothing at all over almost 2 weeks now). My crack has spread, and now, just this morning in the driveway just warming the Jeep up I heard another 'pop/crack' and a big starburst literally popped in the center of the existing crack. My windhshield is LITERALLY breaking apart in my driveway with the defrost on LOW!

Dealers will NOT schedule me (I've tried every day this entire week) because they all contract with Safelite Glass for all glass repairs. @JeepCares has told me if I go to Safelite they won't warranty anything - kind of a catch 22. Steph, from @JeepCares keeps saying she'll get me an appointment with a dealer, then going dark for a couple days at a time. Haven't heard from her in 2 days now. Looks like Jeep is going to lose a customer in the future from me for sure. Love my JL, but this may be the last of the line if they don't step it up. I'm also going to be swaying any and all colleagues/friends/etc towards other brands based on this customer service experience along with Jeeps lack of interest in making what is clearly a manufacturing error on their part right.

**Anyone else with info/experience regarding a non-collision based crack (like mine that occurred in the driveway with the defroster on) please PM me and let's get a group going. I"m going to submit to the BBB as well as take it up with Jeep down a different avenue than @JeepCares since they're getting me absolutely nowhere and simply showing up on the forum to give the impression they're helping vs actually helping.

If we can get enough cases together we can either go through the BBB, Jeep, or heck I might even consider a class action as the glass windshield is pretty important, and if it can spontaneously break from running the HVAC- that's dangerous. I'm honestly worried my windshield will break apart at speed now, since it popped again this morning in my driveway and chips of glass popped out of the existing crack.

This seems like a lot to me. I bet you probably suffered a rock strike at some point that u didn’t notice which then spread with the temp fluctuations.

My windshield suffered a rock hit, resulting in a large star. I simply called safelite on my own, paid a $100 deductible and my windshield was fixed. Safelite warranties their work so if there are any issues I can contact them. Sounds like you’ve already spent more than $100 in effort.

Sorry - just not understanding why this is such a major issue?

Def not a strike . The Jeep has super low miles, zero pits/chips/etc. no starbursts or even crazing. I literally watched my windshield split 2.5 feet with the defroster on in the driveway (not moving). I’ve had 4 Jeeps and plenty of rock strikes on and off the trail. Chips/ etc. My jku took a large piece of gravel to the corner of windshield- chipped and formed a small star about size of a dime. Stayed that way for three years with plenty of freeze/thaw as well as 4 wheeling. Never propagated.
This windshield literally split with the defroster on and no previous impacts. I’ve taken a bunch of hi def photos and video of the entire crack. It’s pristine and starts EXACTLY where the defroster ends.
It’s an issue with the glass and Jeep needs to step up. I’m definitely not replacing with the same glass as it’s garbage.

well I have been in this club for awhile just never posted in this thread. the windshield has a large crack across it starting from the passenger side and then has another starburst crack from a small stone below that crack. Then just this past weekend, a small stone hit the driver side and cracked the windshield again making its way across to the passenger side. So within a year of having the JL the windshield is cracked in three different spots, It’s pretty ridiculous. I am trying to be patient but not sure what to do at this point. Hopefully Gorilla glass will be a better option, I’d give it a shot.
I would pay for an upgrade if it was available, not sure I want to replace it with the same stock quality, because I don’t want to keep buying new windshields after a pebble hits it. The windshield seems to be very fragile, more so than what I remember my other Jeeps being. If I replaced the windshield after every crack I would have had three by now.

The windshield on our brand new (less than 500 miles) JLU simply cracked while idling in the driveway warming up. The crack is directly above the defroster vents and is already spreading. This is completely unacceptable. We live in northern Wisconsin so we will continually have this issue unless a fix is implemented. I am not going to pay for a new windshield, and this is certainly going to keep happening. Based on 1000+ posts I've found on the internet reporting the exact same problem, this is clearly a design and/or /material issue that Jeep needs to take responsibility for. I've been Jeep owner for over 30 years - and currently have three - so needless to say this is quite disappointing.

what i have done in the past is show up with both keys, and contract for purchasing the truck or car. and give them the " if you wont fix it your buying it back at full BRAND new cost" and ill take my business else where unless you if this under warranty as it is a known problem... i did this with the FCA in 2008. due to a nasty PIston slap noise i had with my ram 1500 5.7L got a call two days later the whole motor was replace free of charge. It sucks being that person but if they dont want to work with you then give them the "Red Forman" treatment

My first post today. I google cracked JL windshield and guess what forum it brought me too. Anyways, add me to the club as I have crack after 4 days of ownership and 250 miles. Windshields must be made of peanut brittle as I was only driving 30 mph when a small rock made impact.

I believe the Corning Gorilla Glass Windshield is the upgrade you would want... if it's even out for the JL yet. It supposedly a lot stronger and has a warranty longer warranty.

Got my first crack on my 2019 JLUR, less than a month old and right at 1000 miles on it. Heard the rock strike while driving a safe distance behind a BMW i8. Anytime I've previously had a cracked windshield in a vehicle, there's been an obvious star from the rock strike, but I don't even see one on this windshield. The next morning I had a vertical crack that is now 2/3 the height of the windshield. Refusing to pay $700 to replace the windshield after 1000 miles, so I'll be dealing with it for now.

Well, 12,000 miles and not quite a year of driving my JL and I’m now a member of this club. Can lower my comp deductible to $100 for $12 a year... will definitely be doing that once it’s fixed.
