Hi all! New to the forum but have been reading the MOAB threads for a few months - finally pulled the trigger and picked up my 2019 MOAB in Sting Grey today! I'm in love!

I created a new thread last night to get some final insight and opinions before I went to the dealership today, so if any of you from this thread helped me out in that thread, then thank you!! I posted an update on my new purchase over there too :)

Anybody have any miles on ridge grapplers in stock size? Thinking about just switching my tires out. Don’t like how disconnected the stock tires feel on the highway. PSI was at 41 from the dealership. Lowered it to 35 last night to see if that helps.

If I do decide to swap tires and want a bigger tire, what size can I go up to without a lift?

I switched out my rims and tires for the ridge grapplers. I also went with 20x9 rim with the 295x55x20 tire. rides 10 times better on the highway! I really like these tires.

The max size you can go from my research is 285/75/17. They have this size in KO2s, not sure about grapplers. If you go wider or taller than that you can rub inside on a full turn, unless you add spacers.

New to the wrangler world. 17 years in sports cars I was little nervous about making the switch. But, so far I love it. Couple small add ons to the interior.. Bartact grab handles, chrome tips on the rubber knobs, silver trim by the cup holders. Exterior I switched the exhaust to the Flowmaster force 2, and switched the antenna.

Mine is also Mojito!. When you look closely on mine, the outline is black and the interior is grey. The MOAB decal on mine can show up as either color depending on the light.

First wash today after the ceramic coating. Made washing a breeze and looks better than new. Installed the BackBone soft top compatible rear deck last night and love it.
Build so far:
  • Warn VR 10-S
  • Sidewinder
  • Mopar winch plate
  • Mopar grill and winch guard
  • Rigid D-SS Pro - Driving
  • Rigid Midnight D-Pro - Spot
  • Backbone security enclosure
  • Soft top
  • Husky Cargo Liner
  • Ceramic Pro - 3 under layers, 2 over
Things I've ditched:
  • KM2 - first day
  • Tuffy box - great quality enclosure, but limited rear storage and no ability to use cargo liner
Coming
  • MetalCloak rear diff protector, deciding on waiting for their front or getting temp
  • New windshield - day 2 crack, rock
Considering
  • UpDownAir- I've seen the pros/cons videos and already own a small dewalt compressor, but thinking on board air would be way to go. Anybody purchase and regret adding air system?
  • Tuning system - Tazer seems most popular - tire size adjustment, ESS and TPMS are my biggest use cases

This is probably a dumb question, but if I wanted to get a locking gas cap, I can just keep the stock fuel door that's on there, right? I don't want to have to buy a whole new door too, or have to remove it.

Does anyone have any recommendations for a good locking cap?

Mopar makes one that you self key to use the same one for your JL. I haven't tried it yet.

I believe you keep the same door and just replace the gas cap.

Thanks! That video makes it look pretty easy, so hopefully this will work with the existing fuel door.
