I think the reason for price lowering on these filters in their stores / for their current in stock of this filter..... is that Walmart is only going to be selling it online from now on.... and not going to stock it in the store. Sure seems like this is the reason...

I believe this is 100% the case. If I go look up the filters now in my area, they all show that they can be shipped to the store, but they are back to their normal pricing of $15.97. So the idea that they were clearing shelves just to sell them online only appears to be the case.

I'll have to try that out. They've got 3 or 4 of them, so if that works, I'll snatch them up.

Went back to Wally World and checked on those oil filters. They were $3.99 and they probably had 12 or more of them. I picked up 5, so the next 25 to 30k miles of oil changes, unless I decide to go double or triple oil changes with each. I'd feel comfortable going up to 15k miles on each.

Well, I ended up buying 4 more at the Walmart in Union City, California. They must have 20 or more of the filters sitting on the discount shelf in the automotive section, all marked $3.99. I paid $3.99 each. I have 15 of these filters now. If I don't use them all they will be easy to resell since they usually retail for $15+.

I'm going to check another Walmart today and buy a few more. I like to leave some for others, so I'll probably buy 3 to 5 more depending on how many they have. I may run two oil changes per filter, as well, since they are rated for 20k miles, which means I'd put 10k to 14k on each filter, well within it's rated use.

The next oil change, I'll measure how much comes out without touching the filter. How much remains will determine if I'm willing to do it that way. I'd tolerate up to a cup of oil. If more than that, then I'll just keep doing what I'm doing and swap the filter each time.

Can do an oil change now using Pennzoil Ultra and a Mobil1 filter for $13.99 total now... Oh my.......... 8-)

I also found Valvoline Modern Engine 0w20 for $3 a quart on clearance, as well. So Pennzoil has a rebate right now?

Great! Unfortunately, the Ultra Platinum 0w20 I just put in there was purchased before the rebate. I'll go ahead and pick up another jug for the next one and cash in on this. Thanks!

That's still a great deal, at half price, and still less than the standard Mopar filter. I'd have been thrilled with 8 bucks a pop!

Just at my local Walmart in Lee's Summit, Mo. They had around 20 of the Mobile 1 M1C-456A filters in the Clearance area for $2.00 each. I bought 3 of them figuring that will last me about 2 years.
