They told me my choice. Free window tint or an extra 300 off
That's actually pretty cool. So is CJ the guy to talk to there? Anyone have any experience with trading in a car with Earnhardt? If so were they at least fair? Looking to finally get a Rubicon on order.

Was the oil like a chocolate milkshake? If so...blown head gasket. But that would be another issue potentially. Low coolant could be the coolant leaking into the block.
Actually, that is a good description of the color. I am not a neewb with cars, and have rebuilt both an engine and transmission myself when younger. This is something I had never seen before with the oil color, texture, and smell. I thought maybe the purple coolant in there may be the cause, but was not sure.

If a blown head gasket, it is something additional to the leak. That is for sure the front of the engine area.

Sounds like that's what it is then....you need to get it in for diagnosis asap so you don't do more damage. Any white smoke on start up from the tailpipe?

Sorry to hear this....I'm sure it's a fluke.
Nope, no smoke at all.

I did open a case with Jeep customer support so that it is tracked. It has already been escalated to whatever level 2 is. I am hopeful it is nothing too major and can be fixed. My biggest concern is having any type of engine or coolant weakness here in the desert. We plan to use the Rubicon as it was designed for, and reliability is why we went new instead of used.

Still not sure where to take it, I am leaning towards Rodeo but not sure. It is a smaller dealership so not sure if that would be a good or bad thing with issues like mine. I have heard nightmar stories from other local dealers so not sure where to go.

I would say check out pricing from Jim Marsh in Vegas, Dennis Dillon in ID, or Superior in Conway. All are easy to fly to, will pick you up at airport, and are way cheaper out the door. Local dealers just had too many add on and fee.
I bought from Dennis Dillon in ID, which was about 15% less than my local dealer, 12.5% less than dealers in the valley. My wife and i used the trip home as a vacation for us, taking may scenic roads, stopping in Moab and had a blast. I would do it again. Any mods I have were either done myself of by Summit Jeep in Prescott, I highly recommend them.

Boy you guys are a hard sell.

I've found the Gilbert store (big dealership), treats you like a cog in their assembly line. I dropped off my Grand Cherokee on a Monday morning and got it back on Thursday afternoon ... all for a water pump. Thought it was a fluke until it took two days for an oil pump change on my wife's Durango. They are so crowded with customers they really don't seem to care if you go away.

If you go to a smaller store, like Rodeo, where they really want your business they will work hard to earn it. Ask to meet the head mechanic (Johnny) and talk to him about your concerns. He's the mechanic who recognized and solved my steering problems. By the way, he was brought over from the Gilbert store ... hand picked by the manager. Hell, go talk to the service manager (Gerry) or the general manager (Heath) ... then try that at the Gilbert store.

BTW ... their shop is to die for ... it's cleaner and neater than my own garage.

Thanks for the input. I was not able to get into Rodeo anytime soon, and am still waiting on the advisor to call me back. The Gilbert store originally said next week as well, but then was able to get me in today. I called Jeep for towing, and they will only tow to the closest dealership... Rodeo was twice as far away so I will give Earnhardt a shot. So far they have been great to work with. I will give them the benefit of the doubt.

I also have had fantastic response e from Jeep Cares / Wave. I have received numerous emails, and a call from a priority / premium advisor. I also heard back on here via IM. So far everyone seems to be trying to help, and that is all I can ask for.

My biggest concern is leaking from the multiple spots like it is, and the fact that the oil was smelling funny and was an odd color. The advisor also noted that as well.

While it sucks to go through this with a brand new car, so far FCA and the dealership has been more helpful and responsive than GM was back in 2006 when I had issues with another new car I bought. Fingers crossed this does not change.

I thought someone on this forum mentioned there was a way to find the best rated service department in your area as rated by FCA, or am I dreaming? I need to find another dealership to work on my Rubicon when I get back in town. The dealership in MO immediately found the leaks I pointed out to Earnhardt multiple times with pictures and still tried to say there was no more leak. Now with the leak, and steering issues I want to take it something a little more competent. I have the paperwork from the MO dealer stating what exactly was wrong, but I have a feeling even with that it will be a chore. I may just try Rodeo, but any suggestions is appreciated.

On a positive note, my Roam frame mounted steps will be in wed. They will be nice to look at in the garage while my Rubicon is stuck in the service department,

I second your choice with Rodeo, even though it is still an Earnhardt lot, they went out of their way to help me narrow down my flighty steering issue. I talked to the manager about my issue, said come down anytime. I never made an appointment and when I showed up, he introduced me to the top mechanic and they both actively listened to my issues while also giving honest feedback and not some Corporate blah blah blah.

Hi Cypher,
You can enter your zip code here to view all certified Jeep dealerships in your area: https://www.jeep.com/find-dealer.html. If you see any dealerships that have received a Customer First award this means that this dealer has achieved the highest level of customer experience recognition in five core areas: people, facility, processes, customer metrics and training certification. If you ever have any questions or concerns during a service appointment feel free to send us a PM for assistance!

Take them out of the equation. We can buy you (or order you) a brand new anything you want here at Doetsch Offroad.
I love Dave's shop - done a lot of biz with him on my jeeps but I highly doubt you can match discounts the same way as big volume dealerships. Kuddos to you if you can because I'll be ordering my Gladiator from you then!

Bought my Jeep directly from the fleet manager at Autonation. Amazing buying experience, i didnt step foot into the dealership once, all vehicles were brought to me at my house.

The service department on the other hand is hands down the worst service dept ive been too. Ive brought multiple jeeps there over the past 8 years and I've worked with multiple service advisors and they're all arrogant assholes, they wont honor the jeepwave loaner or extended service contact loaner (that was sold to me by them). They scoff at you if you mention a TSB or Star Case. i wouldn't send my worst enemy to that service dept.

Larry H Miller Avondale has one of the best service depts ive been too. Never once have i had to fight for a loaner.
My jeeps in there right now for the V41 recall and a new soft top bracket. Got a loaner without even having to ask and they keep me updated daily

I had great luck with Rodeo Jeep in queen creek. Peter Notbohm [email protected] 6% below invoice on new 2020 order, zero pressure. Did me right when tires didn’t come in as ordered too. (Replaced at their expense, no hassle)
