We ordered a Bikini Pearl Sahara Unlimited on the 27 Feb. We were originally going to go with the Mojito Green one but when we saw the colour of the Pearl we know we had to have something different. There are 8 Mojito ones floating around the city.
Our dealer told us since it was an option to select we should be able to get it. From what I read it was going to be available in the 2nd quarter of 2019 or as a late release for us up here in Canada.
We have no idea how long it will take to get it, as of today we don’t have the VIN yet and our dealership said it

I’m pretty sure the retooling is for the phev as that was what I was asking about originally.

I'm not disagreeing with you... but it just seems that there is still some potential ambiguity that could be misinterpreted. Your original question simply used the word "hybrid", so I'm wondering which of the two hybrids did he think you were asking about? I would expect (hope?) the 3.6L eTorque/BSG would be the next priority, since it's intended to be a 2019 as opposed to a 2020 and we already have the model code for it. I doubt production of the 3.6L eTorque/BSG would require a 3-week retool though, so you may be right... or perhaps they'll retool for both in May?

Do we know if the 3.6 with eTorque will be the only option for the 3.6 in 2020?
-2020 offerings would be 3.6 with eTorque, 2.0T with eTorque, PHEV and diesel?

I mean honestly to me all these other eTorque and BSG things while technically make the Jeep hybrid, to me aren’t a hybrid. When I’m talking about hybrid I’m really only referring to the plug in hybrid model which is why I try to use the PHEV term. But obviously I could be wrong.

The eTorque and BSG are next in line but yea I really don’t see a retool necessary. Body lines aren’t changing, really not much is changing except for some stuff in the engine bay where as for the plug in they would at least have to have one different panel to allow for whatever outlet to plug it in.

But again, I don’t work for jeep and have no idea. My ability to wait is fading and I’ll probably end up picking up a used one off lease. Already seen a couple early returns in my area which were in my price range just not what I wanted.

What is the expected 3.6 e-torque price premium? $1,500 - $2,000 ?

I wonder if there would even be a premium, it is the base engine in the new Rams with no upcharge. Unless the standard 3.6 sticks around below it?

I am not sure they will even do a 3.6 BSG on Wrangler. With how tightly packed that engine bay already is, I can't imagine them stuffing more in there. Not an expert opinion, just a thought.

2020 MY in July or Sept 2019 or buy the current 2019 JL. First time Jeep buyer and the issues regarding suspension/steering are still being reported and bothering me. Also, a chance for Gobi or Green color as well.

Your candid opinion will be much appreciated.

A bit of clarification, please... in reference to the term "hybrid" and re-tooling in May, does this concern the "mild hybrid" 2019 JL 3.6L Pentastar with eTorque/BSG or does it refer to the rumored 2020 JL PHEV (plug-in hybrid electric vehicle)?
2020 JL PHEV plug in

we have built a few 3.6 BSG already. just test engines. not sure what the plan is for them. IMO since the 2.0 BSG isn't selling good they have decided to concentrate on the 3.0 Diesel and the Plug in Hybrid

I would wait to buy the MY 2020 when they become available. More paint color choices and the Diesel and Hybrid engines should be available by then. I am also waiting to buy my Jeep.
