I posted previously about driving on the beach with my new JLU on Saturday. What I forgot to post was that my son and I played a Wrangler counting game on the 25 mile trip to the beach and the 25 mile return trip. Our rules were that dealerships didn't count and Jeeps on the beach (there weren't any anyway because it was blazing cold February) didn't count. And it had to be a Wrangler. No sorry @ss Liberty's or Compasses or such.

50 mile round trip, we counted 67 Wranglers. Southern Delaware is Wrangler territory, apparently. We were amazed.

Went snow-wheeling with Michigan Jeeps. Grayling, MI

Had a blast. If you are moving, do everything to keep moving. Only needed one tow, and that was as a couple of us were cutting a new path around around an obstacle. I learned that in 4-Lo the max speed is exactly 30 mph, at 3500 rpm.

Mostly 4-HI driving. Snow base was about 24 inches, 8 of it was fresh powder from the night before. Some older stock jeeps got stuck more frequently, but I attribute that to driver experience, and lack of airing down.

Couple snaps after a little rain/snow here in Las Vegas over the weekend in a local underground parking garage.

Headed back to the wooded near Cocoa Beach with my son today. Tried to find a way to the back of the trails but there had been rain since Friday and there was more and deeper water and quite a bit more mud. We found an abandoned truck out in the woods. Some folks on a big side by side came by and called the sheriff and gave them the plate number. Turns out it was stolen. Some dirtbags had smashed it up pretty good and just left it there. Bunch of beer cans under the hood. Speaking of mud, we got stuck. Of course there was nothing solid to hook my brand new winch on to. We were about to hook up to a tree that was almost 90 degrees to my bumper, but luckily somebody with a truck happened by and he pulled us out. He laughed and said we needed to go to 2 WD and go faster. He’s probably right.

Now the hard part is cleaning up the mess.
