I hear ya. My 5 inch freezes, goes dark, goes off when car is off blasting music. It's really bad but I wish I had bought one when I saw them for $375 on RockAuto... =-\ My fault...

Yea, as much as the 5 inch is a piece of garbage. I can't justify spending over 500 on the 7 inch. It doesn't have wireless android auto capability and pretty much any aftermarket that comes out will. It's also still uconnect, which just translates to problems. Unless the price comes back down and the dealer hold is lifted, I'll be waiting.

This is correct, however that order likely won't go through.

Mine installed in 15 mins and is working well. Few features I still miss such as being able to browse my playlists while bluetoothed but CarPlay is working and I can browse fine like that. Great forum thread and everyone is really helpful. I appreciate everyone’s input.

I was able to order both the screen and bezel through my dealership this morning.

The bezel will be here tomorrow and the screen In 5 days.

Total with tax and shipping was $700.

Cheapest I could find online was $679 so not too bad and it’s covered by the dealership since I ordered through them.

No VIN required. I say no VIN required but they were able to punch mine in and order them. Will be added to my build sheet after I install it. Dealership said it’s plug and play easy install.

EDIT: Monday, FEB 18th

Service department says they will need to Flash uConnect 4 to my vehicle so that the Jeep gets the proper push updates and to replace uConnect 3. They are covering the flash cost as I purchased the screen through them.

In this situation specifically I am not being charged.

However, to answer your question directly, it is dealership dependent as they are independently owned. Most charge between $100 to $160 for a Flash in my experience at different dealerships.

I spoke to a different dealer near my today. The parts guy there said he could order me 68297546AF no problem. Then he went on to tell me that it would be 750 outright OR I could trade them my 5 inch unit and it would only be 300. I told him to order it! He put the order in and said it will be 1-2 weeks. I'm skeptical still, but we will see what happens!

My dealership could not order 68297546AF something about a revision. The P/N ended up being 68420237AB.

68297546AF was around $400.

While 68420237AB (the revision) is $600+.

Either way obviously you’ll be fine. I just don’t get why the “revision” was so much of a price jump online and at the dealership.. mind boggling.
