My wife hit the factory steering stabilizer on a rock and slightly dented the shock body on the side closest to the wheel. Even with the damage it drove ok, but seeing the damage made we want to relocate it above the tie rod to prevent further damage. We both have early production JL's that have a good amount of slop/play in the steering wheel(I have a FOX ATS). The steering stabilizers did nothing to help that, not that I expected them to but they did firm up the steering once you get past that "dead zone".
My wife is going in for the steering TSB among other things in the very near future, but I think both of ours will need new steering boxes to alleviate the problem. I've owned several JK's, and work on them almost daily. While some of the older JK's with high mileage have similar play in the steering none of the new lower mileage ones do.
I think mine will need a steering box as well, I was just hoping the dual RC stabilizer would be better then the Falcon 2.2 I put on

Is the lip on the wheels removable/replaceable or is it just painted?

Thank you and yes every one was ok I was lucky and none of my kids where in the Jeep with me. My daughter was sad to find out the Jeep wasn’t coming back but seems to have fallen in love with the new red rubicon.

Today I found my panel cap that you pop off for the tail lights laying in the back of my Jeep. One of the tabs snapped and now of course it won’t stay. I’ve tried looking for a replacement and for the life of me I can’t find a part number or a name to call that circular plastic part....please help:(

Installed AMAK "White" Rock Lights.

Made rotatable mounting brackets from 1 1/2" x 1/8" aluminum angle. Shorten the light wiring and added connectors. Used small rubber washers between the light and the mount for vibration isolation.

Drilled a 5/16" hold into the side of each body mount bracket. Fished the wiring, protected with loom, inside the frame. Wired power from AUX switch. Used copper "No Oxid" on SS bolt threads and wiring connectors. Lights are mounted inside the channel of the body mount brackets for protection. Rotated each light for desired pattern.
