I have a Sport S with the LSD Dana 44 Rear with stock Gears on 37s.
It looses all the benifits of the 8spd and zippyness. Gets stuck in 4th or 5th on the highway.
In low 4 I've also got to the point where it doesn't have enough torque to climb a very (extreme) rock face either. It would have burn't up the gearbox before spinning the tires.
So after testing on the road and offroad, I am going to re-gear to get the factory feel and zippyness back. It will also be better fuel economy on the highway and easier on the motor if it can cruise at 75mph in 7th or 8th gear again.
Dana offers 4.88 and 5.13. They recommend 4.88, but im seriously considering going 5.13 for the extra low in low 4 and even more zippyness.

In addition, If you need high clearance flares, I am selling the aftermarket one's fitted to mine. They will fit with 37's and stock suspension, see no wrap photos in my garage. See pics of car in yellow wrap on my garage. Inbox me for details if you are interested.

The M200 is such a new axle. We don't know much about durability. Hopefully it hold up to 37's
It is new and only time will tell but my budget for new axles is in the works. In the meantime they will be fine for what I'm doing. I don't know about you but I'm not doing much crawling in Fl.

good information. anyone running 37s with the 6pd ? im in debate that i am going to go with the terra flex lift and 35's on my sport. i do have the LSD D44 upgraded rear axle but i am super concerned with the 3.45 gears and the 6spd thinking of either 4.10s with 35's and if i go the route of 37's i am leaning towards the 4.88 gears any thoughts?

I have a 6 speed 2 door sport with D44 and 35's. It was a dog with the stock gears, 6th gear was useless unless you were going down hill on the interstate. I went with 488's within a couple of weeks and it is fantastic with the 35's. I had 488's on my JK with 33's so I had already planned to go at least 488 on the JL. I use 6th gear all the time now and it has a little pep back. Crawling in 4lo is great with this setup and it still averages 18-19 mpg.

A local dealer had 4 Sport S with 37s 20s combo with the mopar 2 inch lift. They look amazing.

I have the RC 3.5" coil lift with upgraded control arms and the modified front drive shaft. I am pretty sure it is a similar lift height to the Mopar 2" (3.5" for non-Rubicons). I would for sure go with 37s, no matter what. I barely rub at full turn with some good force coming out of a driveway or on a rock, and on one corner only. I have not gotten to full articulation, but I know it would hit somewhere I'm sure w/out upgrading my fenders (planned).

Here's some various pics to show the height and clearance - the pic on dirt was aired down to ~16psi.

I don't know the offset of my wheels, but I think it's really low, maybe -44ish, as my tires stick out past the fenders about 3-4".

Has anyone really wheeled a JL with the stock m186 axle and 37s yet? Im going to throw some money at it and donthe artec truss and evo C gussets. But im still only on 35s. I’d like to go 37s and leave the front open and put a locker in the rear.

I bought some rubicon take off axles and 37’s. Unfortunately after the deal was make the shipping didn’t work out so now I have 37’s and my stock axles. At this point I think I’ll throw the 37’s on and see what happens. If it breaks maybe get the UD44. Or if I win MetalCloak’s giveaway this month get the UD44 before the m186 breaks  I am interested to see how the m186 holds up though since the ring gear is bigger than the d30 and the gears are cut different.

damn that sucks about the rubi axles, id love to find a set also.

true it should be interesting for the m186. You see lots of jk dana 30s on 37 and they say its doable.

as you said the m186 is supposedly stronger then previous JK. Im going to truss the m186 with the artec so it hopefully adds some strength with the new FAD etc.

ill be staying on 35s for awhile, but will test the dana 30 with 37s and see how that goes before i go to a UD44

Yeah this may be the path I take now. I’m sure it can do it being easy but if it popped I wouldn’t be surprised.
