Gear selector on automatic transmission (red button)

On the gear shifter there is a red button up front what is it used for, cannot locate in manual.

Send a picture...the red button I'm familiar with on the front of the shifter is to allow the shifter to move once it's engaged. Do you have an automatic or a standard???

After you start your car and drive some where, this button is used to place the transmission back into park. Then use the silver D shaped handle(aka door handle ) to exit the vehicle.

Remember there is this circular thing under the dash that looks like a wheel where you can make the jeep go left or right!

It’s the trigger for the lasers that shoot out of the fog lights, at least on Rubicon’s.



Seriously it’s the shift lever lockout. Must be pressed before moving lever.
