Took my Brand new 2019 JLRU 2L turbo (1100 miles) in to investigate a check Engine light that came on after the second time the Stop/Start unavailable service system message happened. The dealer pulled the code as P0507 claimed that since I drove the jeep in 5 inches of snow and below 32 degree temps that the accelerator pedal was frozen and caused a the high idle condition. I picked up the jeep that night drove it home and back to work the next morning. Sitting in our parking lot at work in park the Stop/start error came back (no check engine light). Later that day I did some experiments trying to recreate the issue since based on how investigated the first issue I wanted to have more information to guide them this time. My testing:
1. Short drive Coolant temp stayed between 160 ā 175. In drive or park. Could not reproduce the issue.
2. Longer drive Coolant was between 180 ā 200. In drive the error will not happen. Put the vehicle in park and wait 2 ā 4 minutes and the start/Stop service message will display. The second time the message appears the check engine light shows up.
With this information in hand went to the dealer having never turned off the jeep.
If I donāt turn off the jeep and the tech plugs in he find the PCM is showing a see the idle reading 200 RPM more than it should have been. We turned everything off cleared the codes and reproduced it showing the same issue.
This was last night and they are opening a case with Jeep. More to come..
