Slow to surge throttle when cold

Sometimes when pulling out of driveway onto main road (slight incline) I push the pedal down like normal and doesn’t accelerate like it should. then all of sudden it’s wide open and have to let off the pedal. This only happens when it’s cold out and when I first take off giving it gas. Any idea couldn’t find anything on here. Is it just bc the engine is cold?

Something like that but not the same.
First thing in the am ( 30-40 outside temp ) engine cold. I don't always get the upshift ( 1-2 auto ). I sometimes "bump the shifter" manual mode and push for 2nd gear. If I don't the rpms will go above 3000 rpm on ice cold motor.

Similar in my 2.0, just have to let her warm up. The JLs do have some slight throttle sluggishness in general.
