Being that it appears to be all metal how bad does it rattle when you're driving down the road?

When you clamp it, it is under a crazy amount of pressure by design. That being said, it literally does not rattle at all. It takes some good force to latch it so it’s SUPER tight when folded up.

Also, to note, the spacers keep it away from the tailgate trim piece so there is no ratteling there.

Probably the most satisfying mod I’ve done to date. I have lunch back there all the time!

I got mine from @AllMoparParts.com cheapest price in town when I was searching.

Thanks for the write up. Finally put mine on this weekend. However, I have an issue with the coating coming off on the Jeep silhouette on the frame and did not notice until I finished. This is the only place that the coating is coming off at.

Wow that’s pretty strange. Did you call them? It latches extremely tight doesn’t it! No rattle.

I got them on Amazon and surprisingly enough they are very high quality. Almost identical to what we used in the Marine Corps aside from that Red colored one lol

I would highly recommend these ones and they come in different colors as well such as OD Green and Desert/Coyote.

Great write up. One thing I think I just realized: If you have the Mopar Tailgate Table (and in the closed position), it will eliminate your ability to use the Trail Rail Management System on the door.

Is this correct? Your access to the rail is only available when the table is open and down? I was going to mount my fire extinguisher on the rail, but now may need to go a different route.

This I am not sure of because I don’t have the TMS yet.

Very good question and hopefully someone can chime in.

Just out of pure speculation though, I would imagine that when Mopar designed both the TMS and Table that they had this in mind. Since Mopar makes both products I would imagine they designed them in a way that you would still be able to get full functionality out of both of their products.

I know that doesn’t help you but I would call the vendor you’re purchasing from and ask beforehand. I would imagine though that they can both be used to their full potential simultaneously.

@MORTON - Fantastic write up with descriptions, thank you! Newbie question coming up ... where did you purchase the trim removal tool ... I searched Amazon and there were zillions of kits, I'm sure I don't need to buy a whole set. Can you link me to that red one you have, as it appears to be just the ticket, and I'll probably only ever use it for this project
