Yes, I have a dashboard rattle in a brand new 2018 wrangler. It's annoying and seems to be coming from the middle of the dash and rattles over uneven pavement, expansion joints in the road, etc. It's really evident at low speeds. So far the dealer is not interested in taking care of it. I contacted Jeep directly with no response. Yes, I realize this is a Jeep, but at a certain point, its not acceptable in any new car.
Hi JeepFLA,
We are very sorry that you are having trouble with getting this concern addressed. Please send us a private message if you would still like our assistance. We will be happy to look into this further for you!

I have the same thing.... dealer can hear it but couldnā€™t fix it and their response was ā€œitā€™s a Jeepā€. I responded itā€™s a $50,000 Jeep...ā€. They are tearing my tailgate apart to try to make it so it will open and are replacing my infotainment systems which still does what ever it wants after several re-flashes
Please let us know if you would like any additional assistance while your Jeep is being repaired, Col Oliver. We are more than happy to have a case escalated on your behalf so a Case Specialist can work with your dealer to help find a potential solution to this.

I too am having a rattle in my dash, primarily when I am listening to talk radio. My jeep is less than six weeks old and, as others have stated, I have a hard time believing that it is acceptable for a $55,000 vehicle to have a rattle in the dashboard while listening to certain radio programs. I also hate the notion that the only way for me to address this is to leave it with the dealer for an unspecified amount of time. Has anyone had any success in identifying because of the rattle?

Look at the ā€œspeaker issueā€ thread. Simple fix.

Hi Jgregg1,
We understand your reasoning for not wanting to leave your Jeep at the dealer for an unspecified amount of time. If you do decide to have your dealer look into this at some point, please feel free to send us a private message as well and we will gladly provide you with extra assistance while your Jeep is at the dealer.

I'm experiencing dash rattle also in my '18 JLU manual. Very reproducible: 1000 rpms, under load, such as idling in 4th gear while going 23-25 mph down a smooth residential street. Loud as s***.

Right now it's at the dealership where it's been for a week and a half. Replacement dash bezel is back-ordered. I'm not sure that's it, but we'll see.

I also have a less substantial rattle in the rear floor area. Had a dealer service employee ride around in the back seat over their uneven back lot. He confirmed, said it sounded like it was coming from under the floor. Now the "advisor" is saying they don't hear it and that the guy said the door may have been partly open. Lyin' sack o' s*** (advisor). I would have seen an open door idiot light in the instrument panel. They need to check the muffler heat shield among other light weight pieces that may be under there. I might also have to check the jack and its pieces. I had them out once and i think I crammed them back in properly, but they could be the source.

Status update:
Retrieved Jeep from dealer. Dash rattle is still there and is audible under the same conditions, but is now about half the volume. As it is related to engine vibrations, and it got louder in the weeks before I turned it in, I expect it to return to full volume. Dealer performed a speaker area fix suggested by a tech bulletin, but that was in the wrong area and they acknowledged it did nothing. They then narrowed it down to an internal dash bezel, which they replaced (after it being backordered for a few days). That left me with the reduced but still present rattle.

Rear buzz rattle was not addressed and is still there. They said they couldn't reproduce it, even though a tech heard and was trying to pinpoint it from the back seat when he did a ride-along. They eventually said my tailgate was partly open and when they closed it there was no more noise. BS.

JeepCares is going to be helping me. I also sent an email to the service manager expressing my disappointment and asking what they would be doing to resolve it.

I had the same rattle over uneven pavement and it sounded like the dash but it was not. It came from my visor, I added two felt pads to each visors solid rubber pads and voila! hope this works for you.

Yep, same here. A little of the soft sided Velcro goes a long way to fix it. The rattle reflects off the glass and you swear it sounds like itā€™s underneath the dashboard.

Status Update #2:
Took it back in to the dealer yesterday for another try. This time they arranged a Red 2019 JLU Sahara as a loaner, so that's a plus. I made a point (again) of having a service guy ride around with me to verify the noises. He tried 1/2 unlatching my tailgate w/o telling me to see if I could have been that dumb to miss the idiot light all that time. Yes, it made a noise but it was slower, clunkier. Not my noise.
We'll see ...

I'll try that visor thing (posts #12, 24, 25) if the front one is still there when I get it back.

Status update #3:
The alleged (I haven't got it back yet but they seem confident) source of the rear rattle was a loose trim panel at or around the built-in woofer. Replacement panel ordered.

Side note:
I have an orange JLU and the guy down the street has a red one. Now I have a red loaner and I just saw an orange JLU at the other guy's house!

Final Update (probably):
The dash rattle was localized to a couple of trim panels on or near the top rear of the dash. Looseness caused them to vibrate with certain engine rpms. Problem was addressed with application of foam tape where they could come into contact with other pieces. Noise is gone.
Seems to me this is an engineering problem that could affect lots of vehicles, so if @JeepCares is listening, they might want to pass it along to the dash supplier quality team at CTC. Oh, and thanks for getting involved in my case in the first place!

The rear noise was the woofer enclosure loose against the trim panel it's contained it. Retaining clips there also rattled and are not serviceable. They replace the subwoofer enclosure and the noise is gone.

I appreciate the dealer service team getting it right the second time.

Thank you for the updates. I've been trying to find the source of the same dash rattle for a while now. I've fixed most of the others myself; however, it will probably have to go to the dealer for this one.

Oh man, I wonder if this is where my rattle is coming from. It sounds like it is under the dash on the lower left side but I wonder if it is the visor.
