I think I am your average Joe. With that said, there are a few things that bring me great pleasure in using like good tools, a nice watch, good clothing etc What makes you smile every time you use it because it is just that good.

I have a Springfield Trophy Match 1911 that I have put about 75,000 rounds through over the years. Every time I take it shooting, I always smile. The quality and performance over the years has been awesome. And with that the Dillion XL650 reloading press. I have many guns, but the 1911 always makes me smile.

My G-Shock watch. Just tough and keeps on working..... Also Mud Resistant. lol

My Craftsman 1/2 impact gun. Every time I use it.... Big SMILES.

Sthil chainsaws and Sthil string trimmer. I can go a couple months or a year with out using them and they always start right up and perform well.

Duluth Trading Company clothing. Their fire hose pants are tough, comfy and the best work pants I have ever owned. Their underwear are super and the best I have ever owned, Their cargo pants and shorts are the best I have ever owned. Overall their clothing is awesome. Pricey, but they they sales.

Now that I am retired, I would like to get a great pocket knife.

Funny that you say that. My custom ordered Benchmade Crooked River (mini) just got delivered an hour ago. I picked colors to match my Granite Crystal Rubicon. First impression is, “Damn... worth every penny!”

That is a nice knife. I will have to do some research to determine what I want. For the last 29+ years I could not have a knife on me or in my car at work. So there was no way I could carry one. The stupid thing I I could have a pistol in the car but not a knife.

One other thing that makes me smile is my bike. A Giant Escape 3. I traded up from an old Mountain Bike. This thing is smooth and fast. I am an old fat guy, but I can bust out 20 miles on this thing with ease. Even did a 50 mile day one time.

I tend to be attracted to shiny things. As I get older, I like quality but it has to be functional too.

I need a fine timepiece that has to be tough as nails. Rolex is where those two qualities meet. I’ve been eyeballing a breitling avenger series lately though. Few objects in life bring me as much joy as timepieces. The precision, material quality, craftsmanship, and overall feel of them is a thing of beauty.

Firearms are something I rely on professionally and I have no purpose for a non-reliable piece. Sig/glock is where function, reliability, and durability have met my standards. Benchmade is another brand that I seem to have too much of but won’t use much else.

for me it's anything of quality from my doc martin boots to my maui jim sunglasses.
i try to spend some decent coin on quality. not so much top of the line, but up there with some of the best.

whether it's my custom tailored italian suit by Canali or a simple watch by Movado.

but a big difference is bicycles. cheap plaza bikes compared to high end bikes with high end components makes a world of difference on a long ride.

it's better to buy once, cry once. quality is king. i just hate wasting money.

When I’m feeling fancy it’s the Cracker Barrel Mac and cheese from the grocery. My 6 yo calls it Gucci mac. Other times is plain ole kraft Mac and cheese

As I get order I prefer to spend more for quality as well. Rolex watches, Monte Blanc fountain pen and both my Kimber and HK firearms come to top of mind as my most enjoyable things.

I always wanted a Sebenza 21 pocket knife but haven’t pulled the trigger yet on that.

My Ed Brown 1911 is probably the most high quality of anything I've ever owned.
And from the past, my puma bowie knife from the late 50s . It seems to never get dull.
