I took the plastic air dam, the thin metal behind it, and the plastic inserts between the fenders and front bumper off. Made it look so much better!

Just did this the other day. Put the skid plate bolts back in as 4LowPhoto did. Looks better that way and will keep the threads clean for any future use.

Second mod checked off the list...a lifetime of mods to go!

Linskyaz,

After careful consideration, I'm going to hang on to my original parts. May be worth gold in the future, who knows. Perhaps one of the other posters would be willing. Good luck.

That thin piece of plastic is not protecting anything, lol . My Jeep was on the trail the day after I bought it and several times since. If you were to come down on a rock it would smash right through the plastic or rip off.
Yup first time I wheeled this thing caught a tree stump. Safe to say it came off later that night. Definitely offered 0 protection.

Mine came off with the splash guards, right after I added the 35's. Laying in the corner of the garage now. I left the metal plate on, but it is only two more bolts.

I have a gladiator and just referenced this post to remove my air dam’s.
Is anyone concerned about the fog light wires being exposed?

I have not seen many pictures of people removing the front lower airdam on the Jl Rubicon plastic bumper. Here is mine.

Overall, it was extremely easy. 8 little plugs with a screwdriver, and 4 bolts. Gives the jeep a more rugged appearance.
