Idaho to Arizona

Hello All ~ I live in Arizona but bought my JL from a dealer in Idaho. Rather than have it shipped I thought it would be fun to pick it up myself and drive it back to AZ. Here are some pics and details of the road trip.

I already have a Jeep TJ built for rock crawling so I purchased this new Jeep JLUR for the sole purpose of overlanding. If you're interested in the modifications I'll be doing to the Jeep then you can follow along with my Back from Bangkok - Overland Build in the Build Journals & Projects forum.

181109 - Kellogg to Lost Lake, Idaho

I purchased the Jeep from Dave Smith Motors in Kellogg, ID. Part of the adventure was getting it back home to Arizona so I took several days in making my way back. First order of business was to take it offroad and put it in four wheel drive. I left the dealership and immediately headed to the woods...

181109 - Kellogg to Missoula

Next stop was Missoula, MT. I wanted to detour over to Yellowstone National Park but it was closed for the winter season. Spent the night in Missoula. Got my country on at a local watering hole called the Sunrise Saloon.

181110 - Missoula to Salmon, ID

Made my way to Ketchum, ID. Along the way I encountered a snow storm just south of Sula, MT. Snow, high mountain pass, twisty roads... Jeep handled as expected. I would have loved to spend more time in the snow but had to get on down the road. Stopped in Salmon, ID, for a quick break and continued on to Ketchum.

Looks like it was a fun trip. I am in AZ, and bought from Dennis Dillon in Caldwell Idaho. I had a blast on the way home, very scenic and the ride was great. I had 22.5 MPH, which I thought was very good.
