Interesting that the tow hooks are not red. I thought that was standard on the Rubi. Maybe just a preproduction oversight.
DanW noticed that at the show too, and that was his theory. I wondered whether the fact that it was preproduction helped inform the decision not to allow people to crawl all over it; there could be any number of glitches exposed that way.

The red tow hooks are part of the metal bumper package.
Building a Rubicon at Jeep.com the tow hooks are red from the outset, even before you add the steel bumpers. so I do believe that the red hooks are standard on a production Rubicon.

Red tow hooks are standard on the Rubicon, this must have been a pre production oversight like @Mid-life Wrangler mentioned.

This is the standard equipment listing for a Rubicon my dealer printed the day I ordered. 3rd up from the bottom XH6 Red Tow Hooks

That was one of the telltale signs that this Jeep was preproduction.

What are these rectangular cutouts on the back of the seat?

Molle webbing for attaching bags and other gear. It's a military standard that replaces an older mechanism for conjoining bags.

I have it on mine via Bartact seat covers, it's quite useful.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MOLLE

MOLLE is great for attaching pouches when done correctly, the weave makes it nearly impossible to lose a pouch even when the snap on the bottom becomes undone. Another great thing about the MOLLE/PALS system is that there are thousands of different types of pouches available for really cheap.

The red dash is not growing on me...I really hope the aftermarket takes care of that quickly.
I'm 100% certain it will. It is just too easy. I think we'll see some neat stuff from the aftermarket, if not Mopar. People will get really creative with it.

I like the red dash, but it does look a little off from the Firecracker Red. If it bugs me, I'll have those pieces painted to match.

I'll bet they'd look badass in carbon fiber or even chrome. Or, how about gloss black, like piano black. I saw a Lexus at the Indy Auto Show that had beautiful piano black trim. Fingerprints would sure stand out on it, though.

Do we know if JL's will be featured at the Salt Lake auto show starting January 12th?

Hi. We are on the fence between a Sahara and Rubicon. What is the real difference as far as the inside design and space, and the body size? We are not taking the Jeep through the woods. Mainly for traveling with the motor home, and fun driving around town with the family. I love the back up camera idea, would be great to put back-up sensors on the bumper too.

Body size and space would be the same. For that use, between the Rubi and Sahara, I'd probably go with the Sahara. Heck, I'd even look at a Sport.

At the Jeep launch- they mentioned they would offer both red and gray dash boards. Seems as though the only way to spec a gray dash is by going with a tan interior? Correct me if I am wrong?
