Look a 5 day solo overland trip in my JL Sport in the Guadalupe district (near Carlsbad) of Lincoln National Forest. My JL has the anti-slip rear diff. Nearly 200 miles of trails per the odometer. Didn't meet a trail I couldn't run but there was one time I had to pick a different line. Had to finish the trip early because of a punctured sidewall. I was prepared for a 9 day trip. Didn't need to use the winch but I installed it for insurance. All in all it was a fantastic trip.
I have a DV8 stubby bumper, a Badlands winch and Rubicon rock rails. Comms was a inReach SE. Tires aired to 25 PSI. I used Gaia GPS for maps on an iPad.
Lessons learned:
1) I need more clearance. I left black undercoating all over that park.
2) I need a way to carry extra gas. I didn't see that anyone had made a way to carry Jerry cans yet.
3) A second spare would be nice. Upgraded tires will happen down the road but I hate replacing perfectly good tires.
