Well if I couldn't buy a JLU then I suppose a second hand JKU, CJ7, or a 72 Bronco. Anything else and I may as well take the bus.

Edit: Crap, I have a boat to pull. Perhaps an XTerra or a 4Runner

If you couldn't get a Jeep Wrangler, what would your second choice for a vehicle be?
The bus. Jokes aside, wouldn't have gotten in to 4x4s hadn't it been for the Wrangler. So it would have been a Mercedes convertible like an E class cabriolet and if I can stretch, a S class cabriolet.

My lease will be up on my Camaro in a few months.

If the JL Rubicon configuration I want isn't available by then, I'll likely end up leasing a Charger (Daytona 392) or Challenger (RT Scat Pack) for 3 years and then purchasing the Wrangler after that leasing term is up.

I'd probably end up with a 4Runner or a Tacoma. Or a Power Wagon, though a PW wouldn't fit all the place I like/want to go. Or maybe a late model 100 Series Land Cruiser if I was buying used.

ZR2, without a doubt. That said, it isn't even close to the JL. It is a very distant 2nd. Neat truck, though.

Oh, that's easy. If I couldn't get a Wrangler I'd "settle" for a Mercedes G wagon (as if!!!).

What $160K when you can't afford $50K???

No........my budget restrictions might find me in a Subaru Crosstrek--I so do like the wheels on this model...and I could get it fully loaded for a relative song compared to the Wrangler

....only nothing compares to the Wrangler. Which is why they cost what the day, and what makes this an interesting thread...

Well. I bought a 17' 300 AWD. Currently at 29000 miles. I will be trading that and paying the difference in cash for a JLU Sport S soft top at some point next year.

I'd keep my 2006 4Runner Sport v8. It's a great, cheap, SUV that can be modded for overland really well. (Pic is not mine).
That's exactly what I drive. 2006 black Sport. V8. AWD. Awesome vehicle.

Taco, 4runner, or Frontier pro4x. We had a 2016 LR4 and while it was nice, very awkward to engage the paddle shifters and the rear seat was actually not that comfortable. We only had t offroad a few times, and it peformed flawlessly. The LR4 had a beautiful leather smell , ahhhhhh. I fear the Defender is too expensive and the Discovery looks like a Saab.

I'd wait for the new Ranger Raptor.
