Radio will not power off

Wife just called

Just had a issue come up. Turned off the Jeep JLU and the radio will not power off it says "Cannot power off during call" She is not on a call and there are no phones connected via bluetooth or Via Cable. She deleted all profiles for phones in settings and still has the same message. She tried a hard system reset both ways via steering wheel holding down green and voice buttons for 30 seconds open close door and also trying the hot and cold thermostat "engineering mode" When in engineering mode It does not show "system reset" as a option on the screen and cannot scroll to see other options. there are no arrows to scroll with on far right.

Radio has been on for over a hour after exiting the vehicle. Any suggestions?

Connect a phone and actually make and end a call? Short of that, pull the fuse.

@Jdegid Fuse F11 in PDC, fuse box protects power to the UConnect's USB and auxiliary ports, etc. Not sure whether that will kill power to whatever is glitching..

Hi John, okay few days ago I arrive home. I try to turn the radio off. Nothing. I'm pushing the dial... turning it. Won't shut off. Then I turned the Jeep off. Back on, still on. I was baffled. I put the Jeep in reverse. Back up camera is not showing up on my screen. It beeps. But can't see crap. I flipped out. I parked the Jeep. Called the dealership. They had no clue. Said bring it up. May need to reset something. Can't be done over phone. An hour later, I get in Jeep to drive to dealership. Radio off, back up camera works. I went anyway. They had no clue. And could not provide any info. unless it happens again. Sometimes I feel, they just sell Jeeps, but have zero clue about them. What was your feed back, and did it reset itself and turn off? Hope so.

Not that it matters but I had a 2018 Jeep Compass that once and only once I pulled into the garage and shut it off and the motor shut off but everything else stayed on so I started it again and then shut it off, I did this like 4 times and it did the same thing each time so I called the Dealer and told them I was coming there way and headed out but then remembered something I forgot at the house and pulled back in and shut it off to go in the house and it shut down fine and never did it again, dealer told me it was likely a computer glitch. I ended up selling the vehicle after six trips to dealer for electrical issues on the BSM system and then when the transmission temp was running 230-240 on a 80 degree day the dealer told me after servicing that the temp was in spec ....but then admitted that have had fan motor problems but never put a new fan in.

I had a bad taste in my mouth on the Compass and figured I would take my loss and move on, it only had 6k miles but it is what it is, I did not want a problem child.

I know all makers have issues with pretty much everything as nowadays we all want every conceivable gadget in our cars, we pretty much have computers operating every aspect of them except the driving part and they are working on that and with all that technology comes headaches so we have to learn to deal with them or go back to manual everything.

I certainly hope the Wrangler JLU Sarhara I have is problem free, I know it won’t go it’s while life without problems but I am hoping I can just do good normal maintence and be good to go.

Did anyone figure this out. My JLUR with the 8.4 is doing the same thing and the back up camera won’t come on. Radio stays on. With the engine off.

Haven’t had this problem for awhile but when it did occur the only fix was pulling the battery cable to reset
I guess the fuse could work too

Thanks. It looks like that was for the 7inch. But the radio reset itself after an hour. Really weird, but glad it’s back to normal.

My daughter had this happen last night, parked car, opened door and radio stayed on. We tried everything we could think of to turn off the radio. I finally held down the power button and settings button at the same time for about 10 seconds and it went off. It flashed its radio light a couple times and stayed off.

This morning and the rest of today, it has worked as it should. 2017 Renegade Desert Hawk.

just happened to my 2018 jlur, (built in October 2018)I pulled the fuse, I believe "97" and everything reset.. now like everyone else I'm sure I'm going to be paranoid about it happening again or something else going wrong....just thank god for this forum...

Tonight March 2 2019 my radio wouldnt connect to a phone. It wouldnt turn up the volume and sound was intermittent. I've also had issues loading off road pages among several other issues. I'll provide a link for the video because it's too large to post here.

14 march 2019 - took it to the dealer at Jim Marsh. Said they cant duplicate it. 4 hours on phone with STAR did not prove anything. Start recording it and posting it here. If your video is too large to post contact me I'll store it until we get resolution.

16 march 2019 - again it did it after a short drive. Cycling the power seems to fix it this time.

29 MAR 2019 - Jim Marsh service has advised me that Chrysler had requested additional details on my case. From what it sounds like to them is a BUS issue because my Off Road pages are affected as well. A factory reset will not work and there is not a software update for my head unit at this time. A replacement if one is required will be ordered from Chrysler level and not local dealer. Currently my JLU Rubicon has 3.5K miles on it. My STAR case number is 101411431

5 APR 2019 - Jim Marsh service called and said I am authorized to have the stereo head unit replaced. Waiting for it to be shipped out. Last night the stereo did not shut off again. Power cycling the ignition solved the problem. I am also finding that occasionally grabbing the door handle for the keyless entry wont work. Lets see if this replacement helps.

24 APR 2019 - Im taking my JLUR in to Jim Marsh Jeep in Las Vegas to replace the head unit tomorrow morning. Recently it has been cutting out on XM even under clear skies in the hills outside of town. There should be no interference.

1 JUN 2019 - so far so good. The radio has not stayed on after replacing it. My Sirius xm subscription was moved over from the old to the new. I had to repair my phones. Initially the temperature outside would not change from 70 even after idling 20 mins. As I drove it the temperature became more accurate. It took about 15 miles to reflect the accurate temperature of 90. Now on occasion when I grab the doors the truck doesn't unlock. The key fob is required to disarm the truck and unlock the doors. I'm finally at 5k miles.
