So this is our first jeep and it's been about 5 weeks now....

My wife loves it so much that she just called me on the way to work asking we could trade in her year old durango for another one :cwl::cwl::cwl:

Maybe if it was a jeep (since they hold their value) we'd be able to afford to but I'm sure we owe a ton more than it's worth!

I never count on a car holding it's value. I just hope to keep it long enough that when when the value reaches zero, I'm still able to drive it. Some of the kids around here on this forum sure do seem to be buying more vehicle than they can afford or are cycling through vehicles a bit too quickly.

@Th3photographer How did you run your Rigid LED wiring for your Artec A-pillar mounts? Under the cowl at the seam where the two allen bolts go? I’m mounting both the 50” bar and the dual cubes. I am trying to figure out which path may be best here. Thanks!

Edit: Added pics
Good looking Mojito. What sides are those? Are they rock rails or just steps?

Yah, I don’t care for it. It looks “unfinished”. Painting black would help blend but still wouldn’t give a finished look because you would still see the mounting brackets.
...I agree about looking unfinished. Maybe there is a way to modify the stock rails to still work with the steps, I guess it would be similar to ace rails with a step at that point.
Thanks for the input!

You might try the plasti-dip approach. Tape off a clean line right above the body seam, shoot it and then mock them back up. The brackets might draw less attention when blended with a nice matte black. Provided the steps are matte. Which they appear to be. More involved but worth a shot. And if it still doesn’t work out the plasti-dip is supposedly easier to remove. I don’t have any experience with the stuff myself.
Plastidip might work, if I don't like it, I can just put the stock rails back on. I'm just thinking the rails would look better on a darker color where the brackets are more camouflaged. Thanks for the input!

Today was my day to bring the Mojito! to work for the first time. T-storms with hail...the Jeep stayed safely in the garage. What we have noticed is that the Mojito! is a head turner. As we have been out and driving around I think we have caused people some cases of whiplash :cwl:

I think this has to do with the advent of the "lease." People lease vehicles at a lower monthly cost with the mindset that in 3 years they will be done "paying off the lease" and they can get into a new vehicle with a new lease...essentially starting over and never truly "ending."

I'm guilty of it. I have a 2010 Camaro that is paid off (no lease) but then my winter beater finally died and I needed to get into a truck for the winter and rather than buying another "beater" I leased a new truck with a warranty and more peace of mind. That lease ended and I financed this Jeep with every intention of paying it off and giving it to my daughter to drive when she's "of age to drive" (which is scary!)

That's exactly my plan....My son will be 16 in 8 years, I plan on handing it down to him!

Lease vs Buy comes down to a lot of factors. We've always leased vehicles until now, we just drive too many miles. But ultimately, I look at it as (most cars) have very little value after 10 years. So if you can lease a vehicle at half the payment of a purchase and you would keep a purchase for 10 years, financed over 5....you're at the same point, but the lease you always had new vehicles, never had to buy tires or pay for any maintenance.

Today marks day 16 of ownership. Thus far, I've had ONE SINGLE DAY pass where someone hasn't directly commented to me about the Jeep, or wanted to take a picture of it, or ask questions about it.

15 of 16 days, I've directly been stopped and talked to.

That's crazy.

Get ready for some pics folks! Thank you @Bkenyon53 for putting me in touch with Matt. He did a great job and I’m insanely happy with how the parts came out.

So after trying the red dash, and trying to tell myself it wasn’t that bad, I grew to hate what I had done to my Jeep. Then BKenyon53 posted pics of his dash, and within minutes I was in my driveway taking out my red dash pieces knowing I had to get them color matched. The dash made me hate the Christmas Watermelon look so much I decided I needed to eliminate all the red I could. So I took off the bumper and pulled out the tow hooks to have those painted with the dash. I took off the Rubicon decal, which I thought I might regret , but I love it this way!

I also hated the grey in the trail rated badge and the Jeep logo. So I removed the logo, and plastidipped the trail rated badge.

I ordered a black antenna.

I am so happy with the look of just green and black now!
