I did not want to mess with painting them, and wanted something to protect more than just paint. This looks awesome! Just picked up our Punk’n JLUR today and on the way home I was talking to my wife about powder coating the hinges black. Love the black accents with the orange.
How did you do it? Plasti dip or powder coat?
Oh wow, they look awesome. I had no idea they weren't painted. That's sweet man. I know there were some issues with the hinges getting chips. I may have to try this out just to see how I like the look before powder coating them. Cool.I did not want to mess with painting them, and wanted something to protect more than just paint.
They are plastic and removable, just stuck on with the 3M tape they came with.

A friend of mine thought they were a carbon fiber upgrade to the stock hinges as he was getting in. So they don't too bad even close up.
I chose the faux carbon fiber look because I did not want just a gloss black.
Plastic is thick enough to protect from rock chips, something my JK Rubicon had a lot of on the hinges.
Here are some close ups showing what they cover (not 100%)

Well these are a no brainer! In my Jeep's first 1000 miles I've only put 60 miles on dirt and my hinges are already chipped up. Wish I would have known/ordered these ahead of delivery.I did not want to mess with painting them, and wanted something to protect more than just paint.

Do you have a pic from the side so I can compare with the fenders? I just need to decide if the carbon or black meshes better with my fenders, sliders, top.
