This is my first Jeep and first wheeling out. It's still stock tires and suspension (JLUR), and in my 3 trips so far I scrape pretty regularly. Yesterday's outing included a steep down over rocks and it sounded terrible (the crew I was with inevitably said 'it sounds worse than it is').

So it drives fine and isn't leaking anything, and nothing was obviosly damaged post-obstacle inspection, but it made me wonder - what should I be checking when I crawl under with a flashlight this afternoon to make sure I'm ok?

(I'm putting full skids on next month, so I'll be less nervous next time out)

Check your skids and rear bumper especially if you were scraping on a downhill trail, or going down over large rocks. The license plate holder seems like a weak point as well. Check shocks and diffs for any major denting. Scrapes, just paint over them.
