So I built my very own 2018 Firecracker Red JL Unlimited Sport soft top with side steps.
It’s not fancy...but I love her! And before the process We did not know you could “build your own Jeep”.
We ordered it on April 30th and patiently waited just under 40 days for it to arrive on May 7th. Picked it up on May 9th. I was extremely excited to get it as I’ve never had a new car and have always wanted a Jeep Wrangler. (previous car was a 97 Jeep Cherokee)
It had only 18 miles on it...the dealership is about 30 miles from us. So within the 4 days we’ve had it it has under 100 miles on it.
On the 4th night we went to a local Pet Store and my husband says, “why aren’t your lights on”? I say, “they are on”. And just then we realize no lights were on around the instrument cluster and it’s completely dead. No activity whatsoever. There was no indication that there was any issues with the instrument cluster. It worked while I was driving home.
I immediately text my sales rep.
The next day we take it into the dealership and unfortunately it’s not an easy fix.
We now have to wait until they can get the part. Who knows how long we will have to wait because the 2018 Jeeps are so new that the parts are not readily available.
We live in So Cal, San Diego area and I’ve noticed on some other threads some people paid signicantly less than what we’ve spent for this Jeep. Our Jeep was very expensive and never thought 4 days in we would be dealing with this.
I do have a call into Jeep Cares and I’m hoping they will be able to possibly escalate the part to the dealer. I miss her and don’t want to drive a Hyundai rental car for much longer!!!
