35" Nitto's on 16" pro comps.

Someone on this board said I couldn't do 16's with the new brake assembly but i still had to try. Tires are Nitto trail grapplers 315/75R16 on pro comp 16" wheels. I had to buy Gorilla 14x1.5 lug nuts to secure these puppies as the wheel lug bore is a little narrow. There is 0 rub between the brakes and the wheels, the clearance is very tight, less than a credit card but there is clearance. I have 3 days days on this set up and I couldnt be happier with it. I'm not saying all 16's will fit but these ones do. These are from one of my JK's. Cheers!

That might have been me that made the comment. I read somewhere that 16" would not clear the HD brake package on the Rubicon or Sahara.

No worries bud, I've read that in a couple places too. You wouldn't be able to use peel and stick weights in the path of the brakes as they'd get ripped off. Its very tight i imagine many 16's wouldn't fit but super excited that mine do! cheers!

I had a chat with me and myself and we all agreed that it was at least worth a try to fit these wheels after all, what was the worst that could happen? The internet was right and they didn't fit? So glad i tried them as i really didn't want to have to buy a new set. they've been on about a week and i couldn't be happier with them. I love the look of this combo, its a great tire for both on and off road. thanks. Cheers!

The weights are not in the path of the caliper, if they were they'd be gone.

That is a tight fit. I’d love to run 16s but have already committed to my 17s. It looks awesome though!

You’ll probably be one of the few on 16s which will be unique! Congrats again!
