Woke up to this at Mexican Hat. Did some hiking and exploring.

This was a super clean truck. I liked seeing it out camping.

We are making our way north towards Moab.

We are leisurely headed to. Moab. We stopped and camped on the shore of Recapture Reservoir last night and will probably hike and Jeep around here today. Recapture Reservoir is just north of Blanding Utah.
We woke and took a little hike this morning the views where good enough for us to say and extra day.

Fuck I need a shave and a haircut. Starting to look crazy.

The camera in my IPhone captures some great shots at times. The pic of the mountain below is probably 10 miles away.

Well we where there until about 2 pm. Could have stopped in and visited.

Just know that Valley of the Gods is way cooler than Monument Valley. The entrance is just a few miles north of Mexican Hat.

So I tried to make it up and over the pass on the mountains in the previous pics. Did not work out and had to turn around. I did not have to get pulled out fortunately. Low, and locked pulled me through so I could turn around, Bill and Gary both said they were not going any further, so it was a no brained to turn around. I think they just didn’t want to have to winch any.

This is the return trip after breaking a path through.

snow was just about knee deep on me and slushy with ice under it.

Well we will be in Moab for about a month or so… Until we have ran the trails we want. We have 20 friends from Our Lansing Area Jeep club meeting us for the next week. We are excited to see them.

Today, was the first time we got out on the trails. Just for a few hours..

We ran 3D, Tusher Tunnel and Hidden Canyon to the Pickle. We turned around at the Pickle because it was already pushing 4 pm and the Pickle can be up to a 5 hour run. We still had to pick up some essential supplies, coffee, bacon and ice cream… Just the essentials.

We did a hike up on top of a ridge overlooking camp in the morning while drinking coffee.

while cruising out to the beginning of the trail on Mill Canyon Rd, had to stop. I looked in the mirror and the snow covered mountain in the distance looked incredible. This pic does not do it justice.

The trail out to Tusher Tunnel is very easy, so not much for wheeling pics, but do the trail for the short hike and views at the end. The trail is about 30 minutes to run. The hike is very short .

And of course the Moab sign. This was the best I could do. The street was fun of vans.

I cooked breakfast for the crew this morning. A hash brown, sausage, sun dried tomatoes, onion, spinach, garlic, pepper, seasoning salt eggs with cheese and sourdough toast. It was a great meal.

Bill will be heading to Grand Junction airport this morning to pick up his girlfriend. She will be with us for just over a week.

Carla, Gary, Angie and I will run Cliffhanger today while Bill is off to the airport.

Wheeled Cliffhanger today. This was Gary and Angie first hard trail in Moab. It unsettled Gary a couple of times. There was a couple crazy of camber climes and decents that can be un-nerving.

There were many pics that I missed while sporting today because….I was spotting.

If you look close there are climbers on this rock face.

I thought this kind of looked like a gorilla.

WTF she offered to help air up????
