I was told deposit and I’d get it back if I decided not to buy.

I was actually told non refundable deposit, but I didn’t sign anything saying that. Actually my dealer doesn’t do anything with the deposit check until the deal is done, so if something goes wrong I guess I could always just stop payment on that check.

Yep, was able to get a much better price and my salesman didn't want to negotiate. His behavior was frustrating and had been playing games. Spoke to the manager and told him I was able to get 2500 less for the same build and he didn't believe me and offered me 250 off. So I cancelled. I doubt I will get my deposit back, not sure I want to fight it as I want to be done with it. I should have my new jeep in less than 2 weeks. It's getting built tonight. Thank you to whoever suggested Steve at Metro in Chicopee, Ma.!

Your welcome! I bought two Jeeps from Steve at Metro Jeep in Chickopee. My daughters Sahara was delivered in a little over 3 weeks. I am still waiting for my Sting Gray Rubi. Steve has been a great salesman. No BS!

Yep mine’s been sitting for about 2 weeks now too. Except mine will have to go on rail, and then wait in another parking lot until a truck picks it up to go to the dealer. Ugh. Shipping ETA keeps pushing further away. Frustrating ‍

Thank you Lenny V. It was probably the easiest sale for Steve as I never went in. I called, told him my situation, asked him to do a Sahara build and a Rubi build and give me his price. I picked, he ordered, done!!! You are in NY and going to MA to buy a jeep?

I highly suggest you fight this. It’s a down payment, not a deposit. That is unless you signed something specifically stating the payment was forfeit if cancelled.
