Valley of the Moon has dozens of protected campsites, BLM land open to camp 14 day durations.

It is right on the boarder, however the rocky crossing would be difficult, far easier crossings nearby.

You were in greater danger downtown SD with the homeless than migrants crossing the boarder on foot.

Canada has some truly epic terrain for sure. I miss my trips over the boarder back in college. Wish I had a clue and was driving a Jeep instead of a Ford Fiesta back then.

So we have about 6800 miles in on the trip so far. Got a good breakfast in

Then to rotate tires. Even Angie pitched in moving tires around while in her pajamas.

We are currently east of Yuma by the town of Wellton. We will be wheeling in the desert trying to find old military vehicles that General Patton used as targets for fighter pilots practicing for World War II and some abandoned mines. Should be a great day of exploring.

So we rolled out through the desert today and explored about 30 miles of it. Found a couple tanks.

Then came across a Combat Village that had Belgian Special Forces doing training. They politely asked us to leave. They were super cool about it.

I have better pics and video on my GoPro.

The ridge above the Jeep, is where I found a vein of turquoise. We spent about an hour or so digging them.

Found a mock up target for military. We stumbled upon a water hole out in the desert too.

Wow, awesome pics.
Those military vehicles & the pic of the Osprey flying over a little ways back, gave me some flash backs for sure. It's mostly good, hahaha!

Keep'em coming, loving it. Y'all be safe though. Maybe you could use a Paramedic with you?

Seriously: Epic sunset pictures! :involve:

You drove up to a training range?? I hope no live rounds were used. :surprised:
They were using blanks and simulation ammo. Mind you it is open to the public when not in use. I took a video that show the info.

We always enjoy good company. Love veterans so if you want to wheel with us, hit me up and maybe it will work out.

Three of us have emergency first responders traini, first aid, CPR and so on. 29 years of training for me and Bill and Carla have 25 years of training. We are good for 99% of common incidents, have a satellite communication systems with SOS capabilities and emergency air insurance if needed.
Note I would let you do mouth to mouth cpr on Bill. Lol. While I oversee the scene…..

We also have a full emergency first aid kit that was prepared by an emergency room RN.

All joking aside a trained medic is always a great addition to any adventure.

Definitely appreciate the offer, just not quite my time yet. Not too much longer & I will be retired. Working on setting up our JLUR for our next adventure (retirement).

But, you never know, I may just have to take some extra vacation days. I know my wife & I would love to join you in Alaska. We love Alaska & Jeeping through would be AWESOME!

When you are driving north in AK, in Healy just north of Denali Park, is the 49th State Brewing. The food, drinks, everything is really good there! It is a unique place to visit as well & absolutely beautiful scenery.
