So, I came home from work and this baby was in my driveway; love my dealer. I’ve never even met the guy, but bought many cars haha.

Any who, day one I ordered the fabtech 3” with Fox 2.0 shocks; day two and I ordered the 17” rims and some cooper stt pro 37’s. Rims will be in Friday, tires balanced on Saturday and trying to get into the lift shop on Monday, but going to be tough.

There will be some cutting to fit the tires, but don’t really care because the fenders will be switched out when more products become available.

Now need to be on the search for a new bumper and motor components to get a lil more umpf.

Wonder how it drives, LOL. I havent even been inside it yet! Oh well, in time....here are a few stock pics in the ole’ driveway —— the wife did moved it into the garage this morning! The color is sweet, way better in person (opposed to online Jeep site). Looking forward to getting this baby ready for cruising.

Congrats. Love the Ocean Blue! Having a hard time waiting to order mine, but for now I’m still planning to wait until 2019 models are available to order. The best part is that I have the full endorsement of the Mrs. on this one. She hated my last car and how much money and time I put into it. She’s wanted a convertible for a long time (I don’t) but when I suggested that we get a Jeep as the best if both worlds she was estatic.

I’ll probably have about $10K worth of wheels, tires, and other goodies waiting in the garage before I even take delivery.

Thanks!

I hear yah on the Mrs...thankfully this is ALL her idea, haha. I always catch flack when I spend money on my toys, which I think is common for us speed/enthusiast junkies :)

She is full support!

As for 37’s, yeah I couldn’t find much on them or any pics. All the local stores have opinions and thoughts. Some say they’ll fit, others say not at all, then some say may need trimming. So, I guess I’m the guinee pig!

Just made my appt for window tint for Friday afternoon.

Are you going with 4.56 for the 37s then?

Backspacing I think you’re talking about. I’m going with 4.7. I was looking for 4.5; but the wheels in 17” came with 4.7. I think this should work; they’ll stick out a tiny bit less, maybe less cutting? I’m not all that familiar with the backspacing other then the quick tutorial the lift and wheel shop guys gave me.

We shall see next week. It’s a big experiment and I’m hoping it all works out!

Ah I was talking about your gears :) my last truck I was a gear noob, this vehicle I’m trying to save up and wait to get it all right at once. I am also a backspace noob too hah, just gonna lurk for a while until more products come out. Last truck was a new model as well so it was in the shop getting the newest stuff every few months.... that F150 stood for “Just Empty Every Pocket”........

Ah the gears; at first I am not changing. I'll see how they handle for now...they should be able to move it down the road (I hope). However, within the next few months when more options become locally available, I'll be getting new gears. I also have to determine what engine/performance mods I am going to do...they all play together in my eyes. Then upgrade the brakes also...in short, yes, I plan to change gears, but not sure on the final configuration.

More or less I'm heading to AZ for vacation next week for two weeks, then home for two, then gone for two for work...SOOOO, in July I'll start on the motor/brakes/gears....see how the Jeep is holding up. Just want to get the lift and wheels on prior to next Thursday! With that said, I did make the mistake of telling the lift shop I'm leaving for vacation and their like, "Hey, just leave the jeep and we'll get to it before you get back"......so hope they don't stall my appointment....ugh.

Looks great! I've seen a couple other Ocean Blue's on the forum, but this may be the first sport. As someone else mentioned I'll be curious how the 37's do.

FYI I have a 2.5" lift and 315/70/17's on mine and it fits great. I think you'll be alright with the 3" lift and Coopers but like you said, sounds like you're going to be the guinea pig.

A few things you may struggle with compared to the Rubicon are the narrower axles and lower gear ratio. Wheel spacers are an option for the axle width, but regearing the diff will be the only way to return power on those heavy tires. Enjoy your new jeep, I'll be following this to see how it goes.

Yeah, seems I’m usually the guinea pig in many past situations, lol.

Just ordered my Ace Engineering Back plate relocator. Not lugging around a 5th wheel.

Change of plans! The lift shop is doing the lift tomorrow! So I had to rush around, have the wife pick the tires up, cancel window appt, get the Jeep to the shop...all in rush hour haha.

So, once they saw the tires and the Jeep, they were a bit Leary. YIKES!

We shall see what tomorrow holds. Here are a few pics of the Coop’s.

I’ve seen a couple sports on here and instagram running 37’s and looking great. From what I’ve seen they’ve all done it on a 2.5” lift so the 3” should be great for the sport and provide clearance to wheel. Looks great subbed for results

It’s coming along....Just got the wheels balanced. These damn things are heavy!

Gonna grab a beer and a bite to kill time....I’m TRYING to wait patiently. My wife is saying “we don’t need it tonight”....pfft, she doesn’t get it. LOL

Okay okay! This turned out way better than I anticipated! 37”s fit awesome! Exactly what I wanted. There was a small piece they had to cut on the front bumper. So I feel like calling all these places back who told me 37”s wouldn’t fit....pffft. Fit great.

It drives pretty much the exact same as it did before. Drove on the express way and I was cruising along and passing people. The acceleration is good; tires are on the quiet side. The Jeep feels a lil wobbly side to side, but that’s how it felt when I drove it to the shop. The Speedo is off, but that’s an easy fix. The braking is a little-little less; barely tell.

I can’t belive how it drives. Guess I was expecting the worst. Now I want to go run something over.
