We made it to our first stop before dark, the Badlands.

I’m mostly taking video but have a few more pics of the Badlands. And you can do some wheeling in this National park. Not just a gravel road either. An old, unpopular FS road that in some spots is almost gone. Came across NP employees who gave current conditions up ahead. Came across a creek that was almost dried up. Gotta be careful if it looks dry on top. Some places you could sink and get stuck.

The Black Hills. Needles HWY was a madhouse I want no part of. The hike I wanted to do, the tiny trailhead parking lot on a switchback was full.

Had a “biker” on point for a group wait until the last minute to decide to pull in front of me. 2nd guy called me a dick since I kept going behind the 1st guy and kept the rest of the train from pulling out. WTF, I rode…I wasn’t some whiny ass. I sure as hell was a more courteous rider and wise.

After that I went exploring and that’s when the day picked up. Besides a couple of SXS’s, nobody else around! The network of trails took us about 4 hrs and 15 miles to do. That’s stopping for pics. I’d rate them a 3/10 as to difficulty but high clearance is highly recommended to avoid damage. If it weren’t mostly dry, maybe up to a 6. I did use 4H, 4L, and my rear locker for straight attacksat some larger mud sections. We probably spent about $40 for just spraying off the mud out of the wheels, brakes, etc at the car wash.

I’ve forgotten the thread. Life has hit a pretty rough spot. Son sick in the hospital for months. Losing Dad to PTSD unexpectedly. Still working through that. I am distracting myself from that with a new hobby. It’s been fun learning some editing skills. I need to work on the content and videography.

Well shoot. I’m having my first out of warranty issue, the passenger visor. I guess I’ll get around to getting the two piece 8mm collar to fix it soon.

My only other issues have been a pencil eraser sized bubble in the vinyl of the backseat driver side door panel, which they replaced, and a faulty rear USB port causing a compatible device error message on the screen.
