We just got back from a month in CO. One week at Breckinridge, Grand Lake/Granby, one week Ouray/Ridgeway/Telluride. Did some lightweight trails, in our Jeep and one paid tour to Yankee Boy. Really liked Kite Lake near Alma and Last Dollar from Ridgeway to Telluride.

Lucky enough to live within minutes of the Jeep roads. We drive them all the time. Love all the snow in your pics because that is by far my favorite way to see the Colorado back country :)

Wow. the few times I've been to kite lake it has been wall to wall cars with barely any room to turn around.

There is a great deal of hiking and climbing that goes out of there. The day we were there, there were a few other Jeeps from TX and shortly we had the place to ourselves. Weather was so-so which helped.

Lucky to call CO my home. This is from last year when some of the crew hung out in Ouray area.

I want to go back, we were there in early June and the wild flowers were great.

I have been a few places in my Jeep in CO (and am looking to move there a bit later this year). Definitely want to go see Lewis Ranch. True Grit remains a favorite...

We were in Colorado on May 30 through June 3. We were lucky that Ophir pass was open, but it was the only one. Had a great time and Colorado is beautiful in late spring/summer and probably early fall, but living in the Southwest of Arizona I prefer 75Ëš winters. Stunning country and the southwestern corner seems to be a great place for off-roading in Colorado, which is luckily only 8 hours away. Can't wait to get back and run all the other passes and trails.

'Tis indeed a privilege to live in Colorado.

We drove Deer Creek & Saints John (yes that's the correct spelling) just outside Keystone, CO this weekend, a gorgeous jaunt on what felt like the top of the world at 12,500 feet.

This is near the summit of Saints John:

I used to live in CO. I don't miss living there, but I do miss the wheeling. The whole state is filled with great trails throughout and some epic passes.

This is a pic where you can see the restored ranch house better. I took this last week while I was up touring property for a client out of Texas. Included some great wildflowers on the Last Dollar road with the San Juans in the background.

That one's on my list for next month, along with Mosquito Pass and Mr. Bross.
Years ago my wife and I did the big trails around Telluride/Silverton/Ouray in her Grand Cherokee- Ophir, Imogene, Cinnamon, Engineer. We've also done trails around Creed, Crested Butte, Tin Cup. Since then I've made a couple of trips to Silverton and did all of the various mining roads around the area in rental Jeeps. Now that I have a JLU I've done some of the lightweight trails around Leadville to Alma. But this year I'm planning to go later so the higher elevation trails will be open.

And BTW my daughter lives in Colorado, I just get to visit.

Camped at the top of last dollar over 4th of July weekend, ran all the BOH trails plus a few others. It was hilarious when we passed a couple new Rubicons, including a 392 near the top of last dollar and they had that "we are out wheeling" look, until they realized ours was still on the trailer and we pulled it all the way to the top.
