2021 Sarge JLU Rubicon - Slow and steady...kind of

Good morning all,

Figured I'd actually start a journal, if for nothing else it will give me something to look back on as I build my jeep out. Its a "base model" Rubicon with 6 spd, kind of impulse bought it, traded in a 2017 Grand Cherokoee Trailhawk. The wife got her Rubicon back in November of 2020 and I fell in love and wanted one of my own. Here she is, my daughter approves

First mod was a set of 9" LED headlights from amazon. It boggles my mind in the world of "safety" that we live in, halogens are still acceptable lights. I'll take care of the rest of the lights later, needed to see at night now.

Next mod was a Midland mxt275. Took 2 days and $70 to get my call sign but now I have a cool kid radio in the jeep. I do need to put some skateboard tape on the mic though cause that this is like holding a wet bar of soap. Still need to come up with an antenna solution and will eventually hard wire it but its in and working.

Got to take a trip up to the mountains in western Maryland over Easter and got to play in my first snow and mud. Jeep was flawless but there really isn't too much on my hunting land to stress the jeep.

Got the dealer to add this to the deal, now we are getting somewhere. Tires should be here this week. Still need to pick a wheel. I love alot of the Black Rhino offerings but don't want a -18 offset...I don't like the poke.

So as I said...slow and steady. Finally got around to install the mopar lift and I decided to keep factory wheels for now. Turned out awesome but way more than 2" of lift. Trackbars and upper control arms are next.
