Laid the stock 33’s up against the 37’s.. interesting perspective

Do you have to reinforce and hardware on your wrangler when you go with 37’s?

I’d love to know how it rides too. Also what tires are those. Very nice looking wheel & tire combo.

My 37's went on today. Wow what a difference. I've read from so many here that the 37's don't really impact driving and it seems like everyone is correct. I could tell that there was bigger tires but it really didn't slow the Jeep down. Acceleration and stopping was nearly unchanged. I used the RC spare tire bracket but I have a Mopar reinforcement and relocation bracket coming. This tire would not have fit without some sort of bracket. I raised the 3rd brake light and it fits fine. Love the look. IMG_1228.JPG IMG_1233.JPG

General consensus is yes. It’s iffy on 35s. I would not risk it with 37s.
What’s all involved to reinforce suspension? What is the price to reinforce it? Forgive me I’m a newbie. Thanks

@Kata, I think AUG thought you were referring to tailgate reinforcements when storing the tire on the rear tire carrier. It's "iffy" if you want to try to store a 35 (depending on combined weight) and mandatory to reinforce your tailgate with a 37 inch wheel/tire.

If you were referring to suspension, unless you have a Rubicon, you would need to have a lift installed to fit/run 37 inch tires. Rubicon models are already somewhat lifted, and only need 2+ inches of lift to support a 37 properly. All other models pretty much require a larger lift, which your local shop would be better positioned to recommend. Hope that helps!

That panel looks removable, need some investigation. When fully flexed and rubbing it just was hitting the bump stop. The Coopers seem to be on the larger size of the 37’s. I was measuring near 36” tall.

I will stick with the 35’s and go with a spacer lift. I won’t be doing any extreme off-road rock climbing just running through some trails and semi deep muddy streams etc. Will a spacer lift do for what I have in mind?

@Sting_NC_USA was correct - sorry, I thought you were talking about the tire carrier.

37s would require a lift. 35s can be done without a lift. I am putting 35s on my Sahara - will do a small spacer leveling kit (ideally, 1.5” up front and 1” or 0.75” in the back, but we’ll see what’s available). Similar to you - no hardcore off-roading, almost exclusively on road.

I just read all 65 pages on this thread. Cheers  for all the good information. I'm going wheel and tire hunting tomorrow. I plan on going with 35's for an overlanding build. For all my fellow Rubicon owners.. I've driven about 1800+ miles on the stock 33's and have gone on average between 70-75mph on the highway. I've noticed the 33's like to follow the grooves on the road and like to sway a bit on the highway at those speeds and sometimes at lower speeds. For those that have gone with 35's or even 37's, have you guys noticed if the Jeep feels more "stable" with the wider wheel and tire?

It was a 1 1/2 spacer, Its just temporary till mopar comes out with 2nd part of oversized tire carrier, I have the heavy duty hinges on now hopefully will hold up its kind of resting on edge of bumper now
Are you able to use the Mopar tailgate reinforcement without the oversized tire carrier? I was hoping to just buy the reinforcement for the tailgate for peace of mind with 35's but on the mopar catalog it says it "requires the oversized carrier." Any info is greatly appreciated!

My dealer in Dallas, has flashed 4 so far, they said they have to get an individual Jeep specific code for each Jeep, and it allows them to calibrate the speedometer, tire size (31-44”), gear ratio 3.21 to 5.13, transmission shift points, and I forgot to ask them about TPMS. $150 each flash or visit. So yes, the dealers that know how can flash the JL’s computers and do the same thing the programmers did in the JK.
What dealer did you go to? I'm in the Dallas area as well:fist bump:

I like wheels that aren't "too busy", nice clean look and you guys below have done it right!

So I don’t want to poke the bear :) I have been leaning toward Nitto RGs... but the STT Pros have caught my eye lately.

I’m on road 99%, highway miles. Are the STT Pros workable when it comes to road noise and comfort?

Comparing 35s... I’d love an aggressive 35 in load C for comfort, but can’t find one.
Good year MTRs make a C in a 35 12.5 17 I have it now. Good tire a little noise on the road but a good tire.I am happy with them. I couldn't pass the deal i got on them. A friend that is a manager at discount tire took them back with 400 miles from a customer who never had MTs before. He thought they were to loud.so i got all 5 for 1100 and the traded my 285s i had bought a year ago at the time and got 300 for them. So 800 for 5 MTRs with 400 miles i said put them on. Sometimes you can find deals like that because discount tire will let you take you tires back and trade them in if you are not happy if they still have very low miles. So if you want a C in 35 mud tire check them out
