Well, not Just Poison Spider, We also did part of Where Eagles Dare, the whole Gold Spike Trail, part of Rusty Nail and The Gold Rim trail before getting back to Gemini Bridges and then to Moab. It was going to be a short day. Run Poison Spider, turn around and come back. We had been pushing it hard and needed a slow day. Just the three JLURs and my normal crew. Well we were at the turn around at 1030 am and IF we turned back, we would have been done with trails at 1pm. We decided to NOT turn around and ended up with a 12 hour+ day on the trail. Bill's Jeep overheated the brakes at one point. 6 bottle of water sprayed on the rear rotor and brake caliber solved that problem. We ran into an obstacle on Rusty Nail that caused us to turn around. We were beat by the time we got back to camp.
The views were awesome.
Getting out of the sun and the light was just right.
We are about half way through the day..... So more to come, but I have to go work on my Jeep. Going to put the diff skids back on after re-painting them. Kind of wore the paint off them and put the new adjustment knobs back on the shocks in the rear after ripping them off.
