Awesome rigs on this thread for sure!

Jumping up to a 40", debating on Nitto Trail Gapps or Maxxis Trepador.
So far I have re-geared to 513s
Yukon Chromoly rear axel shafts
Doing fender trimming soon - I get a lot of rub in the passenger rear with these 38s out on the trail.
RCV axel shafts w/FAD delete -waiting on parts
EVO truss - waiting on parts

What have you guys done to strengthen up the D44's

So the 39” KMG’s only lasted a week. Decided not to put money in the Dana 44’s and just go for it. I knew my next set of tires was going to be 40’s. The wifey told me not to spend money on these axles and then spend more next year on 60’s. I don’t know who this lady is any more... lol. I ordered 60’s the next morning.

Was going to stay with the 39’s but when trying to sell the 5 lug wheels, everyone asking for the wheels wanted the tires too. So I sold them as a package and am now running 40’s. I absolutely love it.

Still have some work to do. Need to cut the ends off the sliders and shorten them up a bit, they are rubbing ever so slightly. Still need to adjust bumps and do some trimming which I’ll get to next week. I learned something in all this. You loose an inch of height on the 60’s. They use JK spring seats which is an inch lower than JL’s. Added 1 inch spacers for now to get the 3-1/2 ride height back until I can get my hands on some 4-1/2” springs.

How are those Fusion axles working out for you? How's the turning radius on them? Really like the idea of going with kingpins vs ball joints.

So what is the story with Fusion axles. I know the steering is pretty solid. I heard great things about Fusion and Currie. So I am looking at the currie extreme 60s or the F9's.

I don't know a lot about Fusion axles that's why I was asking him for some feedback. I like the specs posted on their website. I know that a kingpin setup is much more durable than balljoints and how could you ever argue with a lifetime warranty on the axle shafts and steering components, hoping to find some real world feedback.

So far i had to replace my PSC ram from 6.75 to 8" stroke. The steering stops on the knuckles are meant to be cut down. When i had the shorter stroke ram my steering sucked. Now its a lot better with the new ram but i havent compared it to what a stock jl can do in terms of turning/steering angle.

Another thing with the Fusion axles is that they require you to go with more than 3.5" bumpstops in the front. This is because the drag link at the pitman arm will hit the drag link at full compression if both shocks are bottomed out. Ie down ledges or landing after jump.

Other issues i ran into personally was i had to trim artec skids slightly on the driver side bracket. I also had a leaky front pinion seal. They shipped a new one out and took care of me without any questions asked. Other than those 2 issues i don't have anything else bad to say about them.

FYi i have only taken it to two hard trails so far so i haven't beaten the crap out of them yet.

Was going to do fordyce this weekend but some things have come up. Will be doing Dusy and Barret end of this month though so it should be a decent test.

Thanks for the info! Will be keeping an eye out for any other info you post on these, i've got a few months before decision time.
