I am on my first road trip with a Jeep, and first extended offroad usage.

I towed MY*JLUR from DFW Texas to West Glacier Montana. I have the Maximus 3 tow brackets and it worked very well. Super easy to connect and disconnect.

The only thing i noticed is that the jeep tended to wander slightly in the lane behind me. This is due to slack in the blue ox adapters which some bushings will fix. I have ordered a set for my return home.

We took a drive up the north fork road past polebridge to the Canadian border.

The Canadians have abandoned their post and closed entry. The US CPB are maintaining their post. We spent some time hiking around the area before hitting the forest trails

Today I earned my very first badge of honor. The wild Bill trail. It was an amazing day. I had no problem in MY*JLUR, and my daughter has a mostly stock JLU sport that followed right behind without a problem.

There are several side trails that I drove around as they where too much for my stock rubicon. Mostly deep holes followed by quick climbs, in rapid succession. The entire trail system was setup to allow you to bypass the stuff that was too technical.

We did all 3 main loops, but there was still lots of trails that we did not get to. We will definitely be back.

Cool, Thanks for the pics. I am thinking about heading there this Wednesday and doing the BOH trail

Yesterday we took a trip from the hungry horse reservoir. Elevation change was 2200ft, with end of trail just a little over 6200ft.

at the end of the road is a great hiking trail. I will be returning soon to explore it.

Beautiful. I bet the weather is way better than here in Texas.

Yes, it is much nicer here. Back home in the dfw area, hard to find trails to ride. Here we have so many trails, never need to do the same one twice and often no need to backtrack.

I am in DFW as well. I echo your statement about lack of trails!

I loved taking my JKU up there when I was stationed in MT. Some of the most beautiful scenery on earth. Comparable to Garmisch, DE and NZ in my opinion. Glad you’re able to enjoy it!

I am envious with you being able to tour NZ! We where supposed to be spending the summer in Norway and Ireland this year. Had big plans for overlanding that just did not pan out. This is the 2nd best option.

The only down side for those from the DFW area is the distance to get here. We tow behind our motorhome, and spend several months here, so the distance is no big deal. For those that want to fly in, jeep rentals are very expensive. Worse than Moab, UT. The sports run $300 a day here, and there are very few rubicons. Many of the rental companies setup the jeeps for overlanding, including a tent. That is nice, but gets to be very expensive.

Today we drove the G2S at glacier National Park. Usually the St. Mary lake is very choppy and wavy. Today was the first time in 10 years that I have seen it smooth as glass. Amazing view.

Great pictures. I'm fortunate enough to live just a few hours from that area. It is beautiful country. One of our favorite places to visit.

I was in this very spot the next day, in my Punk,n JLR. And my brother in law with his JLUR (Stingray). Awesome area - I love the north fork. We make a point to hit their 4th of July festivities when we’re up there.

as it turns out, your trek to Wild Bill is right by my BIL’s place - Foys lake area is also really nice, and a lot closer to civilization. Most importantly, groceries
