Was able to get out a couple of days ago, some older co workers needs some supplies so I was very happy to take the Jeep out and help out

So I have been having an internal debate. At first I thought it would be cool to lend out my Jeep for R&D to AFe get some parts out of it then I had second and third thoughts. I spoke with some good friends of mine and decided to go ahead with it. I dropped my Jeep off at AFe today so they can scan the engine and exhaust. I was told they are going to work on parts: intake, exhaust, intercollegiate tubes, intercooler, and suspension. I am excited to see what they come up with.

on a Side note I did get my winch plate in so I will he installing my winch probably Friday since I have to go to work onboard a ship on Sunday

Thats is awesome, lucky you, this is a 3rd vehicle for us so I would have jumped at that opportunity asap, good luck and hopefully you get a good deal on some awesome mods

This is technically our 4th vehicle which is partly why I chose to go ahead with it. Supposedly I will get all products they test that goes to production. We will see

My very first mod like most was getting rid of the antenna for a stubby one

What antenna did you go with? did you loose any reception or clarity on your radio ?

Curious which company your side steps are from.

Nice color choice! That was one of my choices when I was shopping.

I didn’t mention them because they were damaged when I received them and wanted to wait until it played out as I didn’t want to bad mouth anyone prematurely. I’ll send you a PM

This weekend I was able to get my Rigged Ridge winch plate on as well as my Smittybilt 10k winch. It was definitely a pain in the ass not having all the right tools made this job take 10 times longer. Got a great work out taking the bumper off at least a half dozen time... definitely user error I think it turned out well. I for sure made a note of new tools that I need to get

Not has been going on lately. I finally decided to take my Baby in to get full paint correction and ceramic coating. I also decided to match my Flatlink. Windows getting tinted as well. I should have her back by Thursday.

I have been on here much lately been really busy. I have had a lot going on, two weeks ago I finally got around to coating my seats. It was super easy to apply and so far I love the results.

I got my @Metalcloak lift about a week ago and couldn’t wait to install it.
Jeep Wrangler JL Cwu's Punk'n Diesel Build 0E4A5D9E-3407-465D-B53B-79B7AE7075D5

Now here is a disclaimer, I have never installed a lift before so I came into this project very green. While most of the install was straight forward i still ran into a few challenges.

My biggest challenge was the Front upper control arm. With the exhaust down the passenger side The Jeep builders though it was a great idea to put the bolt in from the inside of the frame going out. Which caused me additional 1-2 hours trying to finagle the bolt out. Finally I ended up crimping down on the heat shield enough to finally slide the bolt out. That was a slow painful process. (Maybe a lift or just removing the exhaust would have made it easier, I didn’t want to go down that path if I didn’t need too. What I ended up doing is flipping the bolt around so
I didn’t run into this issue again

Aside from having to grind out a larger hole in the front track bar bracket everything else seemed to go into place. One thing I have noticed that my front springs seem to bow a little not sure if that is normal or if I Messed up somewhere along the way. All that I have left now is to put the front sway bar links on and then readjust my front end and hopefully all will be good and ready for an alignment.

What size lift did you go with, how much did it set you back?, I think the next upgrade on my end is the lift, just unsure which one to go with, but since my rig is stuck at the dealer I guess I have sometime to figure out which way to go, I was originally hoping to go with something that added King coilovers, but they are expensive and I am not sure if the coildover conversion would be good (or better I may say) for off roading, I have many things to install still so I am waiting a bit before making tha final call, I am also nervous about fitment, it seems most manufacturers expect things to "fit" since it's a JL, nice to hear most fitted properly
