So, I don’t want to put a rear “tray” because if I get a big one, I can’t open my rear door. Obviously tossing a carcass in the back is less than desirable. I’ve pondered a winch “net”

(and now you know why I don’t design vehicle parts).

Or do I need to trade for a gladiator? :) problem with that is that my wife doesn’t like the gladiator, but everyone loves the JLUR.

Get an old "Deer Lease Truck". Plenty of my friends have older trucks, used jjst for deer hunting, and hauling stuff. Deer leases can beat up a nice looking Jeeps paint.

Somewhere I’d seen a pic of a Wrangler front bumper with a 2” receiver. The owner used his winch like in your sketch, to help load his buck onto a cargo tray.

I have been thinking about using the shackle holes in the bumper as a pivot point for a basket that can be lowered then winched up once loaded. The ones on my LOD model are aligned and should be relatively simple to use.

Some of those "trasheroo" type bags that hang off the spare would be big enough for deer, depending on size and species. The head and rack would probably stick out the top.

I installed a front two inch receiver. It's inexpensive, looks clean, and now I can put just about anything up there.

I like the Gladiator also, especially in Gator color. But, like you, wife and kids dislike it. The whole family loves the Jeep (Wrangler).

I cut it up where it lays. Put the meat into plastic bags to take out in my backpack. Head/cape strapped to pack, then into big garbage bag. Everything goes into coolers in the Jeep, with ice around.
