What did you do TO your Jeep JL today?

Finally got these KMC xd 229 Machetes mounted today and on the Jeep! Been in the garage since Christmas! Also got the Rock Hard loser control arm skid mounted!

Love the polished wheels. So much better than black that most people do!

I installed the new smittybilt tire carrier. Pretty straight forward install and the product is very stout. I would definitely say SB stepped up the quality on this. Only thing is I broke by backup cam putting my wheel back up there so that sucked. Oh and I bought another Jeep.

Installed, Tuffy security console insert. Boy was that fiddly! Sturdy though. LIKE the combo lock better than the keyed one had in my JK. Also didn't have to drill to install like with JK.

Installed a tow wiring skid plate by MetalCloak to protect the tow receptacles. I already cracked the cover for the 4-wire plug on a rock, and it was only a matter of time before something worse happened.

It was a very easy install. You basically remove the receptacle from the pressed steel housing and install it into the skid plate. The bottom of the skid plate continues beyond the covers to provide added protection.

how were you able to remove the tow wiring harness? Did you need to push something in to pull it out or brute force etc? I’m trying to install the same skid plate

Wifey couldn’t stand the Lexus so we got a corona-fabulous deal on this one. I tried to talk her into a Bikini Pearl but she said it was too girly. Lol. (@higbyz).

No its pretty straightforward, the directions are well written. They don't provide enough adhesive padding to go all the way around the cage where it touches the Jeep's paint, so I supplemented with some thin weather stripping. Good luck!

I feel your pain. Installed mine a couple weeks ago with the combo lock as well.
